I will take a wild guess and say they are releasing the login info in small batches to keep all of us from hitting the system at once and crashing it.

Anyone want to place bets on how fast we crash the system on the first when everyone is ting to test at the same time?

Did the law actually change? CA PC 26845 still says "handgun" as far as I can tell.

What are the exemptions from the Firearm Safety Certificate requirement?
There are a variety of FSC requirement exemptions. In addition to the previous HSC exemptions, a person issued a valid hunting license is exempt from the FSC requirement for long guns only [Penal Code 31700(c)].

FYI for those that hit this thread and have a hunting license -- you don't need the FSC if you already have an HSC. Might save some folks a few bucks.

I sent these questions to DOJ yesterday. No response yet.

1: What will be the procedure for stripped long gun receivers? It will not be possible to do a safety demo with these.

2: Will there be a way to pay for all of the FSC issued in any month like we do with DROS submissions? Having to pay for these individually at time of issuance will be a real time waster.

Also, I would assume using a gun lock is not required if we show the gun coming out and going into a safe? The last step of re-apply gun lock "if applicable" leads me to believe that. Is that anyone else's interpretation?

I called the contact number from the FSC site and they did have my Email wrong. Got it fixed now. Hopefully I get login info soon. I swear I had them check this and correct it before but I guess something fell through the cracks.

If you swipe credit cards, there is new regulation coming that will require a new device for swiping/reading them. A business that does not upgrade will be responsible for any future fraudulent transactions for that card. As to DES, nothing that I am aware of..
