You can't have a camera in here." (In a tone almost hostile)... he then told me to turn off the camera and I am to leave immediately... I replied "Well I'd just like to express my displeasure over the looming gun grabbing legislation SB 249 and I wish to ask him politely to take it off the table and try to attack criminals in a way fitting, not attack the law abiding taxpaye..." That is when security showed up told me to turn off the camera and I refused... they then TOOK my camera ($150 value) and told me if I didn't leave I'd be arrested. I then said "ok, fine, I see how this place is run... I'll leave... can I get my camera back?" the security guards said "no, it's not permitted in the office without written permission and now it's contraband, you can file a report with the security desk and they'll get it back to you".....

NOW HOW ABOUT THAT FOR AN EXPERIENCE!!!! And yes, I am not bull****ting you. I just got home to Escondido about an hour ago... still VERY pissed off.... and doubting I'll see my camera again. So I was robbed of my 1st Amendment rights to bring grievances to my government and also robbed (get this, the guards had guns, amazing eh?) of my property. I filed the report with the security desk and called the sheriff (got no satisfaction there, they in other words told me since I'm not a resident of the area here I have no business being in his office).
Was it a security guard or some kind of actual law enforcement? Because a security guard has no more authority then a normal citizen. I'm starting work as a security guard and if I did that **** I would be fired. It is very illegal for them to confiscate your camera if they are just a normal security guard, they can only do that AFTER they arrest you.

They can certainly detain and hold that camera on private property if it's posted " no cameras or recorders"

Right. But they have to return it to you, as you leave the property.

Or, is a politician's district office suddenly some sort of sensitive area where top secret stuff is happening?

Listen to Yee's smoke n mirrors job

Just listened to Yee's audio at yesterdays hearing and what absolute B.S. he put out there . Just kept talking about the "mag magnet" and how it's " All " he wants to Ban and then hear him go into his Anti Assault Weapons speal and knowing how much MORE is in his bill ( wow, wonder who's helping him when I seriously doubt he barely knew the difference between a handgun and rifle 6 months ago ) is absolute C**p!!!! He spent most of his term crafting B.S. legislation to suppress our constitutional rights while cruising the Tenderloin for prostitutes and lying about where he lives for his kid's benefit. If he followed his own thought pattern , he'd realize his whole life was ONE BIG BULLET BUTTON. He's needs a "mag magnet!!!" Yee get off our S**T , straighten up your own HOT MESS!!! STOP SB249 NOW.... HAPPY 4TH OF JULY AMERICA.

That is a very costly lesson that once was taught, but in 236 years most of our leaders have forgotten.

Thank you for making this. Great job with the text commentary.

There are political "forces", behind the scenes, that can and will affect the final outcome of this bill.

Please all, keep the emails and other correspondence going. When these career politicians hear that they are losing votes if they support this Senate Bill, it stings their agenda.

For Yee to sit there and say this bill is constucted under the premice of a "what if" people start dying because of these weapons is proposterous.

                              Here's one for Yee:

I think we should make CA legislators not"part time" as is being talked about, but VOLUNTEER state employees because "what if" a politician creates a bill that infringes on our rights just to appeal to the voters who approve said bill. If they are VOLUNTEER employees, they won't have time for the bogus bills because they have to get to their real jobs. Re-election won't be a priority because only people who really want to be in the legislature to improve CA will run for the office in the first place; so they will be using their own time to address the issues that actually help CA instead of justify their taxes paid salary.
I don't imagine the career politicians approve of this idea. But it's an idea just like SB249 started as an idea...

                              -Mike

I still remember few years ago in the Cow Palace Gun show working with the club I belong to soliciting signatures against the banning of the handgun ammo (REMEMBER THAT ONE?). To my great disappointment, only a fraction of those in the gun show were willing to sign. A Calgun volunteers walked by exchanged greeting with me and so disgusted at the situation that he yelled at few who simply turned the head and walked away from me refusing to sign: what's wrong with you guys? You are shooters but you let the politicians trample on our constitution right!

That is a problem. In the range of the club, I always count that about 1/2 of the shooters are with AR when I do my Range Safety Officer duty. If those owning the AR, not mention AK and others, in compliance with the present CA law, stand up protecting our right, no way this kind of nonsense bill stand much chance.

But where are their backbones protecting their own constitution right? Or they want us in Calguns and other organizations to stand up doing the work for them and say what we firmly believe in, following the constitution and law?

This is a key problem and challenge to us.
