What we should do is help making a new law so that you have to be born in USA to be a senator. There must be no discussion no debate. We must stop these dangerous people coming to US and telling us how to live in our own country. There I said it.

I wondered about this also. All of the doom and gloom, worrying about whether or not you will be compensated and tossing in the towel while the bill still has to go through a few more steps to become law is a waste of energy and focus. Instead focus on calling, emailing, giving money if you are able and spreading the word about this bill. Brandon and Co are doing the heavy lifting for us, if we can't find the time in our day to do the small things that are required like calling or whatever then maybe our reputation as Ca gun owners on other forums is deserved.

My god i thought i had a hard time speaking clearly but Yee and his followers pushing for this bill sounded like a bunch of fuddy duddys. Its scary to think we give these people this much power.

Wow you beat me to it, DrDavid.
Not only on your own wall, but you can search big name brands like: STAG ARMS, Bravo Company etc..... post it on their wall, professionally and proper. I also sent them messages

Is it fair to say that it is unlikely to be amended again, unless they want to take it back to committee?

Look at the sigs and headers of all the members and ask yourself how many are paying members of the NRA, 2AF, CGF, CRPA, or any other gun rights legislative and litigation group. Notice how many aren't. Notice how many have thousands of posts, indicating either a long history or a lot of free time. Next, ask yourself, "Self, since this person bragging about the bundles of cash they have and the opulent lifestyle they live can't be bothered to contribute $25 a year to help our cause, will they contribute a split second of their time to do anything besides pontificate on a website?"

Now ask the most important question there is: Is this person a freind or foe in the big picture of gun rights. That's an answer you have to decide for yourself. Not everybody who doesn't contribute is a foe, but not all are freinds either.

I can assure you the NRA and CRPA lobbyists Ed Worley and Tom Pedersen are 'all in' on this and what you see in public is nowhere near what goes on in private.
Absolutely, right on, there is more going on than meets the eye.

I walked in to said office with my camera, asked the receptionist (Whom I think was a gay man) if the "Senator" was in and I'd like to share some of my ideas on his legislation with him... he said "What are you doing here? You can't have a camera in here." (In a tone almost hostile)... he then told me to turn off the camera and I am to leave immediately... I replied "Well I'd just like to express my displeasure over the looming gun grabbing legislation SB 249 and I wish to ask him politely to take it off the table and try to attack criminals in a way fitting, not attack the law abiding taxpaye..." That is when security showed up told me to turn off the camera and I refused... they then TOOK my camera ($150 value) and told me if I didn't leave I'd be arrested. I then said "ok, fine, I see how this place is run... I'll leave... can I get my camera back?" the security guards said "no, it's not permitted in the office without written permission and now it's contraband, you can file a report with the security desk and they'll get it back to you".....

NOW HOW ABOUT THAT FOR AN EXPERIENCE!!!! And yes, I am not bull****ting you. I just got home to Escondido about an hour ago... still VERY pissed off.... and doubting I'll see my camera again. So I was robbed of my 1st Amendment rights to bring grievances to my government and also robbed (get this, the guards had guns, amazing eh?) of my property. I filed the report with the security desk and called the sheriff (got no satisfaction there, they in other words told me since I'm not a resident of the area here I have no business being in his office).
Kalifornia, taxation (and legislation) without representation. This just shows us how dangerous progressives/liberals are to liberty

This is the kind of talk that makes the antis think we're all a bunch of "yahoos" who have no respect for anything but guns. It does our side no favors.

I don't use sigs on forums. Even if I did, I wouldn't necessarily use it to let everyone know where I choose to spend my money. Besides that, I am unemployed right now.

I'm glad you're willing to concede that.

I sent a response to Yee, and I sent a different email to the folks on the Public Safety committee; I will draft and send a new, different, letter to Yee and a new and different one to the folks on Appropriations; and if there's enough time before Appropriations, I will try to see if I can get a meeting with Yee -- I'd like to think I have a good shot (no pun intended) since I am a democrat, live in his district, and don't own any firearms, but I do oppose this (and most anti-gun) legislation for a variety of reasons.

I didn't sign the stopSB249.org petition before and I won't this time because it doesn't speak for me; it is not my voice. I don't tweet or facebook -- I contact my friends in private. The fact that I am not public about my opposition does not mean that I'm not out there advocating against this bill.

                              as for 249

i will never surrender a single weapon without full monetary compensation of my agreement

would use the money to leave the state and buy better toys.....

at the very least i would ship contraband out of state until gura destroyed california

For those who missed the hearing yesterday, I made this video of the SB249 hearing audio along with some text commentary.

                                Watch and be disgusted.
