+1000. Believe it or not, there are some of us who are not US-born who love this country and what it stands for and would defend it.

I'm going to agree fully. I've got several friends that were not citizens before going into harms way, one a door gunner in 'nam. They hate what's happening here.

FYI Adam Keigwin is looking more and more like a loser every day, adding insults and cuss words to his press releases? Every single issue has people who comment like that, he is making himself and Yee look like morons.

All that tells me (and hopefully anyone who's neutral on the issue) is that they're out of facts and rational arguments that support their view. If indeed they had a winning argument, they should be able hold it up for scrutiny against the arguments that StopSB249.org, CGF, NRA, et al. present in a true marketplace of ideas, the very foundation of democracy. Instead they pick the low-hanging fruit of anonymous internet comments to highlight in a sad attempt to divert attention from the gaping holes in their logic with what amounts to nothing more than ad hominem attacks. They're trying to conjure up the negative emotions and equate them with the opposition (us). Not surprisingly, Adam Keigwin isn't the only person to try this manipulation technique - Ladd Everitt of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence with his "Things Pro-Gun Activists Say" column is a well-known practitioner, as well as the Violence Policy Center, and the bumbling "Starbucks Boycotter" Elliot Fineman of the National Gun Victims Action Council.

It's really quite pathetic how Adam has now resorted to including these comments into a press release. If the legislation is as strong as they say they believe it is, it should be able to stand on its own merits.

I'm assuming they do it to get their base worked up, who are typically nothing more than unthinking drones who need to be force fed what to believe. If only they could realize how much they're being manipulated. Anyone with a shred of critical thinking ability would see it as the grave insult to their intelligence that it is.

Good afternoon Senator,

As a proud member of the Republican party and a firm believer in the U.S. Constitution, I am writing you this email out of my grave concern for proposed SB 249. I am not sure if you are aware of the bill, its track through the legislative process, and what its ill written vast implications may be for thousands of California citizens. My fear is two fold. If passed, this bill will do more than just force many law obeying voters to either turn in their weapons or hide them, this bill will significantly hurt our regions economy. There are a number of gun shops, gunsmiths, and ranges in the 19th district that will be severely impacted by this, not to mention the implication of reduced tax revenue for the state. Our state's economy is already significantly depressed, this will only further the matter. I understand the need for "gun-control" but I feel that the state has taken the wrong approach. I have witnessed current legislation passed that restricts our right to bear arms, rather than punish those who have little to no regard for the law. It is my hope that you and I share a similar view. If so, I would like to know what you will do to help stop SB 249. Furthermore, do you have any plans on addressing the need for real gun control, laws that place larger sentences on those who use firearms in the commission of a crime?

Wow. . . this is as much short-sighted and asinine as it is insulting to those of us who were not born here, yet possess far more patriotism than the plethora of anchor babies ever will.

In the same vein. . . both Boxer and Feinstein are born in the US. . . and Obama allegedly as well. . . how is that working out for your idea?

I agree Dark Paladin, the focus here is Yee's bill and how we can get our representatives to kill it in the Appropriations Committee. I don't care if Yee was born on Mars. We are against SB249, not where he was born. Print this, liberal media...Guys, let's not feed the libs with their assertion that the only ones against this bill are racist rednecks.

Was going to try some on clear transparencies for the windows, but the white letters on black background won't show up on tinted windows... Mental note for next time, please?
