It's basically time for a new rifle so I thought I would ask. All input is appreciated

      Thank you
I would get a cheap PSA AR lower, put in a Geiselle G2S trigger*, and buy a Larue Ultimate Upper Kit when it comes in stock.

*to meet their 4 lb requirement (I'm confused now, is 4 lb trigger still a requirement for Marksmanship?) I think the Larue trigger that comes with the kit is < 4 lbs.

Buy the lightest 1-6x or 1-8x scope you can afford.

I also have never done that...from the 7...after my garment got caught due to wind. Never.

Probably a bunch of r day classes.

Anyone else heading out there soon?

I'm expecting it to be quite busy given that ammo prices are coming down. Still not where we were 18 months ago but at least not near the peak price during Covid
I’ll be out there September 10th for yet another 4DDHG. Buddy of mine got a Commander membership for his birthday from his wife, so I’ll be meeting him and his son out there. It will also be his son’s birthday that weekend and the class is his son’s birthday present.

Hoping to get back in December for either another handgun Skill Builder or a 2-day Tactical Handgun class.

I never implemented the tactics on the test that others have suggested, but I did tape a small rock on the bottom corner of my concealment garment (button down shirt) to make it easier to clear during a windy day. I called it my tactical rock.

I only employed those tactics on my 6th or 7th DG with my Glock 43.

                      The Tacti-Rock is essential.

                        Rock, smock.
I put one or two, extra rounds of whatever caliber I'm shooting in a hidden compartment of my button down concealment garment. I call them my back up for my back up.

In prior years I always shot 100-200 more rounds than the max.

If you shoot well, you can draw, fire a pair and a second pair and no one seems to care.

                            Are you safe- yes
Are you faster out of the holster than others - yes
Are you picking up sight on way to target -yes
Are you taking out slack on the way to target - yes

So you can shoot 1 pair or 2 pair - scan- reload- etc

Line staff spend more time with newer shooters. If you are shooting well, are a repeat student and being safe, they don't watch you as much.
Sometimes, if you're one of the better shooters, you're watched more closely on the test. On a pretty full line, I had a slight bobble on a malfunction clearance. I hoped nobody saw it. I got called out by being asked if I had a round chambered. I did.

Some instructors don't give you much slack.

vinnie: maybe I'll see you out there, I'm probably doing 4DDHG that weekend.

tacti-rock ftw! I remember my first class, didn't know I needed concealment so my buddy and I went to Walmart, bought the cheesiest hawaiian shirts we could find since it was summer time and then proceeded to tape up the front and add rocks.

Hey, never said there was anything wrong with cheating but DRM is right, some instructors will watch the good shooters a bit tighter.
Just wait till you get to Master Prep, you get away with nothing in that class.
