I really liked the Saddle West. It's no Plaza, but it's clean and does the trick. The biggest thing for us was the free and easy breakfast buffet. Gotta get your carbs and protein for a big day! Also, for us of the geezer brigade, we just needed a place to eat/shower/sleep. Didn't have much energy after all day in the sun.

Good tips on keeping shoes on in the rooms. Didn't think of that. Nasty...

Don't say that...! #LOL I can't see the front sight anymore, and have switched to Carry Optics the past few weeks.

I love my iron sights - and am consulting with a sports optometrist. But he is just so booked, that it is about 6-weeks before I can check with him again. He told me to bring my handgun and would work out a prescription that balances out up to 15-yards (or more, if possible) + workspace for reloads/malfunctions.

That said, reading all about other members' posts on FS, both here and in FB, I can't wait to go back. Maybe in January/February (must be cold???) after work settles a bit. Been majorly 12+ hour work days...

Thinking of a 2D-SB followed by the 2D-ATHG.

When I got my first one, one of the other instructors was handing out certs. The RM then took mine to announce. It felt pretty cool.
Mine was a unique case... For some reason, the other experienced shooters in the class were just falling off like flies, to less experienced shooters. In the finals, it was me and a beginner from Hawaii. Oh my god! The class was going crazy, "Miss the shot...! Shoot the hostage...! Shoot the gray...!" ...

Here is a clip from one of my classmates: https://www.instagram.com/p/BrjUaykH5gk/

No one got the Coin on that day... Although looking at the clip, am not really sure mine was a miss... But never bothered - it was fun and hilarious!

Anyways - the instructors allowed an impromptu shoot-off for the class - wife to challenge husband, friends challenge each other, etc... I was just about to get back to my seat to relax and have some snacks, but surprisingly I got challenged 4~5 times!?! The last round was with a handicap (for me) - pistol unloaded and only 3-rounds in the first mag....

My first time at FS, 4DDHG was indeed memorable!

Whats the Saddle West like? As long as it's cheap and clean I'm fine with that. Looking to save a few bucks next time since I'll be coming out my myself for a 2-day skill builder. But if it's nasty and smells like smoke I'll just shell out the extra cash to stay somewhere a bit nicer.
Saddle West is decent and their included full breakfast buffet is plentiful.

Front Sight special is $49 double occupancy. You will need to give your membership number when you reserve a room and show your membership card when you check-in.

Found another restaurant ChinaAGoGo in the same complex as Oh Jah. Reasonable prices and they also have Hawaiian food. Best of all is that they have boba!

How is it that Chinese food can be found in every city in every state in the nation? :-)

Sure there's Chinese restaurants everywhere, but was it good? That's what we really want to know

Nicco's Pizza in Pahrump was well worth it.

On my next visit I may order another XL and eat half of it at night then take the other half to FS for lunch. Maybe pack a couple large ziplock bags to put it in, since I'll be traveling on the cheap next trip out.

vinnie, a cooler and premade lunch is the way to go.
Leftover pizza is great, can always nuke it in the microwave if you want.
other than that, sandwiches, wraps, or even a simple salad is cheap and easy.

I always pack my own lunch when I go out.

I've been out to FS twice. I know the drill. I drove the last two times, and trust me, I pack a mean lunch and always brought my own cooler, my own camping chairs, etc. This time I'll be flying, so can't really bring the cooler this time!

They offer dining in booths or to go. Large portions, you'll be stuffed.

Serving staff wore masks and we saw them spray the booths with disinfectant after people leave. People in NV are generally much more relaxed, restaurants have been open since May.

We ate chinese food for dinner and bought Hawaiian food for lunch. Looking forward to the Korean ribs and spam musubi tomorrow!
