Yes , the Benjamin will set them off . Too cautious - maybe .
A few years ago , someone put a bunch of M T spray cans in garbage ,
someone else threw away oil - what set it off - who knows .
I keep my primers in with the bullets . [ in a small ice box ] another Ice box has powder in it . My Cartridges and kept in safe with the guns .
I prefer to instill fear and caution into people I train / teach to reload .
I am a big believer in when in doubt toss it out and replace .
If you care , I used to just staple cardboard to a piece of plywood until the plywood / cardboard caught on fire . Now I use furring strips to raise cardboard / target off plywood . After using the 1 X 2 furring strips , I found the shell with the lop sided primers could also be put on cardboard . If you have split , bulged or cracked cases - put in a primer and shoot them . This is a good way to build up mussel memory
A nephew has a CO2 pistol and after about 6 - 8 shots , the primer will be pushed threw paper and not go off . It is I think a Browning about the same weight as a 1911 .
