Wearing Body Armor in the Range...

I wore mines when I had to qualify for work, however it was optional, since I wear it to work everyday I felt I should at least shoot with it on once and a while. So if such situation should occur in my line of work I'd be accustomed to it. But normally I don't, police generally frown upon wearing it unless you can justify it. If a officer pulled you over; and you're wearing a bullet proof vest and have a weapon on board, thats not going to go too good with him, generally speaking of course.

No, body armor is totally legal. Some sellers restrict sales, but there isn't any law prohibiting the average citizen (felons are a different story).

I don't. However, many LE agencies mandate body armor being worn when qualifying, if it is a "static" shoot at silhouettes, vs. a dynamic "run and gun" type of course.

It's moreso wearing all the equipment like you would in the field. I haven't worn my level II vest to the range, but then again I have yet to be muzzle-swept. I might do it to stay warm in the coming months!

IMO, any sort of preparation or precaution that significantly hinders your everyday life for the sake of "safety" is being paranoid.

That being said, I suppose wearing body armor to the range wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience. But you still won't catch me doing it.

Total mall ninja stuff. I saw a guy at Reeds the other day in a vest and I had to start laughing. Just silly looking in my opinion...and the fact he was about 50 pounds overweight didn't help. If one is that paranoid best stay at home.

Wearing one on the outside increases the ninja factor. Concealed is the only way to go.
