if you go into a gun store (Turners or any gun store) just to do a PPT don't expect them to roll out the red carpet for your 35 bucks lol
that said, if you don't like the service at that store...vote with your wallet.
I did a PPT at the Signal Hill location and the guy facilitating the transfer was reasonably fast and professionalComment

turners has been hit and miss for me. good and bad.My expectations are low. Did a few DROS their. I mostly buy ammo on sale. each store varies a lot. Each salesperson also varies a lot.
Raising minimum wage fixes NO problems. Prices just go up and things cost more. Does turners really pay minimum wage ?.Comment

Ive had nothing but good service at Signal Hill.
For a PPT though... I go somewhere else. Ammo Bros usually.
Turners is a corporate chain, they do things a certain way.Comment

The Turner bashing has been going on here forever. If you don't
like them or their service don't do business with them. I buy there and
I wait like everybody else. They do sell a lot of guns at good prices. We
need all the gun shops we can get,I hope they stay in business a long
time. I don't know if they keep track of their complaints but I wonder if
all Calguns complaints were filtered out ,how many real problems are
left. There are some complaints that are legitimate for sure. This board seems to generate its share of members with a lack of patience and a huge sense of
entitlement. PeteComment

I worked at Turner's in Norwalk back in 97, I was working both sides of the store, fishing and hunting dept., they were owned by a woman at that time and the starting pay was minimum wage , I really didn't care about the pay as this was a second job, I only worked there to be able to be around the things I was heavily into at the time, I have/had a friend that still works there to this day, he makes over $17 an hour now, they are now owned by the same guy who owns Legacy Sports, that's why they carry Escort Shotguns and Howa Rifles, they are the importer. I still go shop there to this day and they know me very well, yeah I only get a 5% discount but I always get that 5% discount, I have a 1911 in jail there right now and I just purchased a safe there, the manager Rich is a cool guy.
I have to agree with the post that said we are our own worst enemy, we should as California gun owners be voting for the people who stand for our rights, feinstein should have been gone a long time ago, but yet we don't show up at the polls to put her dumb *** out...seriously? Her and Boxer should have been kicked to the curb a long time ago, we need to agree on one thing ( cause God knows we don't agree on anything else) Get the vote out, get these commie b*****s out already and any other fool that doesn't support out 2A rights, come on people, 11 million of us and they still hold office? We have no one to blame but ourselves, 2016 is gonna be our chance to get a potus that's pro 2A we need to be there to do our part. Get the vote out.Last edited by RR.44; 08-25-2014, 7:27 AM.sigpicComment

It is hit & miss with Turner's. I've had both good & bad experiences at Norwalk, Pasadena, West Covina, and Chino Hills.Comment

You know what? You guys are right, I should vote with my wallet. Even if they do occasionally have some good prices I should just stop spending money there. Who cares if I have to pay an extra $5, that $5 is worth it if I don't have to deal with the incompetent jack-o-lanterns they have working there. A major portion of them don't know a damn thing about California gun laws(sending people doing PPT away just because you are "30 mins to closing and won't have time to "see" us," yet you have time to stand in front of us chitchatting for 45 mins; that's against the law btw), most of them are rude and all of them couldn't get a job working at Walmart.
This is my personal experience with the Reseda Turner's, YMMV.Last edited by _TomT_; 08-25-2014, 7:53 AM.Comment

"Most" gun buyers don't know much about guns!
Turners, just like any other chain store, has a manager that sets the tempo. If you have a strong management staff that is knowledgable, caring and has a sense of urgency towards their customers, you'll have a happy customer base. It's all about the leadership.
Remember, not everybody who sells guns, cars, motorcycles etc. are experts about all their ever changing products. What phrase most salesmen need to learn is "I don't know but I'll find out for you".
Employees passing on "we don't do PPT's" is not Turners exclusive. I've read several posts on Calguns regarding other stores.
Their are times I miss having a Turners here in Bakersfield but that's rare. I'd rather support Rafael thank you."The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."

Turner's experience is only as good as the salesclerk serving you.
I've had good and I've had bad. Expand your horizons, support Mom and Pop operations not major chain corporate gun stores. Try it!
Affirmative you might pay a little more (mostly on discounted lost leader products). But you keep American traditions alive and help hard working families who are committed to gun rights, gun safety and the promotion of shooting sports. They have loyally invested their life savings.
Turners is also helpful in the industry but has lost much of their original attraction. I am always entertained by the loud voiced swat/armorer/sniper/zombie killer/survivalist sales clerk because... I remember when he worked at Kragen's last year.

when you go to a small gunshop, you might only have 2-3 different employees total that would ever help you, and you may hope to expect a certain level of knowledge/professsionalism to even out. but with Turners, they might have 100 different salespeople, so you are are definitely going to see highs and lows on the knowledge and professionalism. Its jsut the nature of the beast. I still shop at Turners on occasion, I just know to expect the worse and hope for the best.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I have had great experiences at Turners...so long as I am not doing a PPT.
I saw the same thing happen a few months back. The buyer politely asked the clerk how she expected him to demonstrate how to properly handle a handgun, if he could not move the barrel upwards. She told him to keep it pointed down the entire time. I smiled, walked by, and said, "Looks like a good way to shoot your toes off." Most of us clear our handguns by pointed them straight, in a safe direction...not at our feet.
During my PPT, I left out a date. The clerk came back and asked me to write my DOB...so I did. She looked at me and said "We're in 2014, I hope you realize that by now." It turns out that she wanted the current date, not my DOB. I laughed, asked the seller if we could go elsewhere, and did the PPT at another shop. I know, it was such a small thing to get worked up about, but the lack of respect that these guys show is ridiculous.Comment
