I drosed a gun 2 weeks ago at Turner's in Temecula. It took over an hour with first 25 minutes just waiting for a clerk to help me. There was no one in line but 3 of the 4 clerks were socializing with other customers. The manager said I will be right with you, never saw him again. Finally a clerk came out from the back room to help me. After all the paperwork was done and I'm heading out the store, I look back and the same three clerks were still bs-ing with the same "customers". No guns or fishing gear had been sold except mine. How they stay in business is beyond me. After posting an email to corporate, I was promised a reply in 2 days. Still haven't heard from them, I will never buy from them again.

Turner's attitude !!

I always wonder what the customers attitude was to warrant such service. I have shopped Turners for a little while now. Have never had a bad experience. PPT times have never taken an hour or anywhere near, even during busy times I've been in and out in under half hour. I will continue to shop Turners until otherwise. Fair prices, easy transactions, and have always been treated with respect.Comment

I thought the safety demonstration was after the 10 days? Is it turners policy to do it at the front end or something?Have a good day!Comment

This one of those "Staple a dead horse to another dead horse and flog away" threads?
Turner's Corona blows. There. I feel better alreadyComment

The California Safe Handling Affidavit has to be completed before the firearm leaves the store but whether it is done at the time of purchase or at the time of delivery is at the discretion of the FFL."A vote is like a rifle; it's usefulness depends upon the character of the user." - Theodore RooseveltComment

I've never cared for Turners. Turners replaced "Bobs" locally who was well known & respected/liked bass fisherman. Turners employees took advantage of cheap & FREE sportfishing trips, normally not tipping as well. Bob would give me 10-20 percent discounts, Turners 5%, but they would come out fishing, if they worked the system & stiff us. 300+ dollar trip & they cant tip...that's why I've never cared for them. Come out free I spoil you, You do nothing for me.Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!Comment

Lets not forget, I've seen quite a few defective guns from Turners. How do you get a Rem. 870 with a bad extractor? I've bought 2 personally, that were defective, no recourse from 'ol corporate America (turners)Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!Comment

Having Worked at a few gun stores to include turners, I can say most gun owners are *******s flat out. Lets just take working at Turners: Ive been called a liberal for saying I prefer not to hunt because I dont like killing things other than fish. I was berated by a rather portly gentleman wearing multicam because I was showing a Hi-Point to a customer who asked to see it. I was berated another time by a customer who asked me what I thought about 1911s. I got called an idiot because I recommended a Ruger SR-45 to a customer, I think it was the same portly multicam wearer.
These are just the few I can think of right now and from that one store. I can take abuse from customers its not hard to ignore a self righteous jackass who would rather me hurry up and risk screwing up paperwork because he doesnt want to stand around for 10 extra minutes because taking more than 5 minutes for a PPT is too long.
People seem to forget that Turners is a large corporate entity and they do things a certain way so that they dont loose their FFL. Every time I did a PPT when i worked there I always went down the steps to do it as outlined in the PPT binder, because I would rather do it right. Yes, there are a lot of steps because of the way the computer system was set up but I didnt care because again I'd rather do it right as opposed to screwing up and making it take longer.
What I took away from working there was that most of y'all, like 97%, act like little children when you dont get what you want. And quite frankly of the people that I've sold guns to most of them should be near anything sharper than a spoon. Thats really all i have to sayUSMC '05-'09 - 2111 - Keeper Of The Cold Steel

Pasadena has it's good and bad moments. They once told me they don't do ppt's anymore. Yeah, violating their FFL right there.
Also if you buy a firearm from them and want to fill out the affidavit instead of buying a lock, you need to have a specific type of safe. Supposedly their corporate policy. If you have a DOJ compliant gun cabinet you need to have bought it within 30 days and bring the receipt in order for them to let you use the affidavit. Complete bull**** just to scam an extra few bucks on a lock.
Also their Torrance location refused to ppt for another cgner. It was a bullet buttoned AK that met the legal length requirement and they called it an assault rifle. Yup, that's Turners for you.
Okay, that was funny

I've done business with Turners Reseda and Pasadena many times. They are not my go to shop but if they have something I want or the price is good, why not. They both have employees that are a pleasure to do business with and both have a few employees that need to find a new jobs.
If I encounter a rude employee, I'll turn into a annoying and demanding customer just to mess with them. Usually it doesn't take long before they make it obvious they are frustrated.Comment

Ehhh I used to work at Turners. Treated everyone with respect and was courteous.
My FAVORITE ppt story was with these two guys, we joked, we laughed, we conversed, we were done under a half hour. Talking to them I found out they met on Calguns which is no big deal.
The BEST part was a few days later, the buyer completely bull****ting here saying how the clerk was rude and it took a long time and that he never would come to Turners again!
When he came in for his pick up, I about bowled over another employee telling him, "I got this." I started asking about his post and he started double talk
The interwebz. When I hear *****ing and moaning about anything be it Turners, Chevy, McDonalds, hell even an escort, I think the other person on the other side of the keyboard is full of ****. Just sayin.Buy my EO Tech XPS3-0!!!
For those nutjobs who like to use the word "gouge"
Note: I did not write the above article.

I loved your entire post, but this one line statement above was the most poignant . This fact should be "shock n awe" to the calgun masses here.Originally posted by hermosabeach11,000,000 gun owners in the state
And not even 11 million total voters turned out in the spring statewide elections.
Sadly and if I had to bet money, I'd surmise that a mere 50% of fellow cal gunners even bother to vote. Apathy is what's killing the right in this country. I have numerous conservative pro-gun friends and family that just don't vote at all.
