Wait...What!Went in to Turner's in Pasadena to do a FTF transaction from a CalGuns post and will never go back ever again. My son DROS'D a brand new 1911 and the attitude & demeanor of the gun clerk was unexceptable and I wanted to just go to another gunshop. The only reason we stayed was not to blow the deal with the seller, because she was in a hurry to get back to San Bernadino before it was too late. When doing the handgun safety demonstration the ******* clerk acted like my son was going to shoot him and the CalGuns seller told him to quit standing in front of the pistol during the test. Boycott Turner's...
You blame the clerk?
Why don't you teach your son to point the gun in a safe direction? He was the one in control of the weapon.Comment

But the customer is always right! Having a random person off the street pointing a gun at you instead of a safe direction shouldn't be an excuse to have an attitude!
lol, I know of a couple shops where that would have likely resulted in the people involved in the transaction being shown the door, very quickly. The clerk shouldn't need to move, the person with the gun could have asked about a safe direction or simply found one on his own that wouldn't result in a handgun pointed at the clerk(or anyone else for that matter). Yet somehow it's the clerk's fault and not the parent for failing to teach basic firearm safety to his son

I've done numerous PPTs at Reseda and Pasadena Turner's with nary a problem. I've also bought about 7-8 firearms from them and only had one bad clerk experience. I left the store (Pasadena, about 10 years ago) and returned a couple weeks later and did the deal with another guy who wasn't a jerk like the first one. I also outed the first jerk to the Corporate HQs.
I'm happy with Turners.Comment

BOO
Another bash thread
BOO
Email or call turners corporate office, compose your concern before the call or email and they can address it.
We- the gun owners in this state- are our own worst enemy
Bash local shops- and they slowly go away
11,000,000 gun owners in the state
And not even 11 million total voters turned out in the spring statewide elections
Boo- stop being part of the problemI completely agree with the above posts. Proper and safe gun handling would be to request the store clerk to move out of the way (if there was not another safe area to point the handgun) in order to do the safety demonstration.
Bashing one of the largest firearm chains in Southern California is not the way to retain your ability to keep your firearms.
I go out of my way to give Turner's my business instead of places like WalMart or Big5 even when they may be a bit cheaper. That being said, the Torrance location is usually always respectful, and their customer service is top notch. If it wasn't for Turner's, other gun stores would be able to jack up the prices of all firearms to MSRP or above.Comment

Umm. I live in an area without Turner's, that happens to have so many small gun shops(South SF Bay Area) that it seems like they might rival a smaller fast food chain in number. Yet I cannot remember a single instance of ever paying MSRP or above. To claim that turner's is the only thing that keeps prices below MSRP is absolutely silly. It certainly has nothing to do with retaining one's ability to keep firearms.I completely agree with the above posts. Proper and safe gun handling would be to request the store clerk to move out of the way (if there was not another safe area to point the handgun) in order to do the safety demonstration.

we werent' there to know if the salesperson moved into the line of fire or not.But the customer is always right! Having a random person off the street pointing a gun at you instead of a safe direction shouldn't be an excuse to have an attitude!

I had one HSD that I did at an LGS where I went to point at what I thought was a safe direction and got chewed out by the saleslady that I was muzzling the people in the office behind that wall? How the F am I supposed to know that
. she wanted me to point at the other wall that lead to the store next door

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

That's like.. 20+ year old dialup days speak. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=78606
True, we didn't see exactly what happened... but I doubt the salesperson was walking back and forth into and out of the line of fire(if that did happen I don't see why the OP would have left it out). But yeah, the situation you described would be why I've asked when I've been to shops I'm not familiar enough with to make that determination on my own(that still doesn't mean I ever point it at the clerk).we werent' there to know if the salesperson moved into the line of fire or not.
