OP take a pic of you at the range and post it to lettuce see it. By the sound of you I fully expect to see you holding your weapon with your finger in the trigger and pointed in an unsafe direction.
Things are a lot more like they used to be than they are now...

        Dear ConfusionScholar:

        "lettuce"?

"By the sound of it" you're making an extremely ignorant comment. I said nothing that even hinted at your notion that I don't take firearms safety seriously. Quite the opposite actually. Your comment is unfounded and merely designed to attack. I hope you realize how transparent it is?

There it is! Whew! I was afraid no one would drag that tired dog out for a run!

Striking the line between protecting my RSO's and customers from the lack of foresight of others would be a fine line.

I guess that would include not exposing them to having to rush someone to E.R once in a while or cleaning blood off the floor... so eyes, an no low cut tops or sandals.

Something that has occurred to me is ranges could have a bunch of various size T Shirts to lend out for those guys that turn up with their girlfriends without thinking things through.

I have seen a couple of scary hot brass and cleavage moments. Have also seen some finger coming off the trigger, muzzle ket down range and a very casual shaking the shirt. So over reaching assumptions could/would be a thing there.

I guess the expense and hassle of keeping them washed after every use is a consideration.

Bottom line with a range is keeping the insurance company happy, and then making sure you don't actually need them.

Because if the person next to me or someone else performs the hot brass dance next while turning with a finger on the trigger, I don't want hole in or someone else... simply because they can't use their brain or follow some simple guidelines or rules.

To much testosterone is the other end of the problem.

Saying that, I know of at these one very serious shooter that does everything in flip flops and ignores the hot brass and has adopted certain techniques to get round it... so again, it's down to assumptions.

Pants, for men at least. Otherwise MYOFB.
My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.

                Naw.

Too many safety, and potential litigation and monetary concerns. Was the added "F" somehow supposed to reinforce your position?

If you want to make rules for others, buy your own range. Otherwise it's none of your business what anyone wears.

The F was for your benefit.

                    Does condescension reinforce yours?

I wonder if the OP is as annoying in real life as his online persona.

This response makes no sense. You asked, "If it was up to you, what would you require shooters to wear at a public gun range?" If it was up to me, I wouldn't give a toss.

Why does that exile me to BLM land? Only control freaks should be permitted to make the rules at public ranges?

I hate to admit it, but Ive thought the same thing.

There is something going on there that rubs me exactly the wrong way but I cant put my finger on it.

As for range attire, I wear a jock strap and rubber rain boots.

And nothing else. Deal with it.

Oh and I chain smoke unfiltered Camel cigarettes while shooting an M44 as fast as I possibly can.

Makes a nice two bench buffer zone at least.
