Dress Code at Public Gun Range?

Yet another reason to hate CA, let people dress anyway they want. Unless it effects me its not my business . they don't to wear ears, fine let them go deaf etc etc etc. Now if the owner of a private range want to inact certain rules then so be it.

At a American Shooter Center in San Diego, a woman was shooting with a low-cut blouse. A hot round ejected down her shirt between her boobies and she freaked, accidentally pulling the trigger and shooting the guy in the stall next to her in the leg. True story.

Agreed. Ranges recommendations made as a courtesy. The only rules I care to be strictly enforced are the ones like muzzle downrange at all times, and actions open w/yahoos behind the line when cold.

If I was responsible for the range I would also add no open-toed footwear allowed.

Then you wouldn't be allowed to shoot at a lot of ranges. I suppose when you think about it, anyone who actually has a problem wearing at least eye and ear protection (and/or dealing with the requirement as if they lost some "freedom") is probably someone you don't want on the line anyway. So maybe it's a good filter?

Naw. There's a potential liability issue like it or not. I would also be worried about someone (particularly a child) getting turned off of shooting by burning their foot.

Yes yes. Someone who wants to do a little shooting in the exact condition they would at home is someone you would not want to shoot next to.

Or do you have ears and eyes next to your oh **** gun and take the time to put them on.

Hit brass is not an issue for me, and shouldn't be for any of us. I had one get caught between the earpiece of my shooting glasses and my temple. I just finished the last two rounds in the mag, set the gun down and took it out. It really doesn't hurt that much, and the burn mark (bragging scar?!?)only lasts for a few days.

Why do people freak out about a little pain? Emotional pain is way more uncomfortable than physical pain. Like a bad breakup, or the loss of someone close. That sh*t sucks!

I only had one time where the brass made me set the gun down. Somehow it ended up in my sleeve in my armpit, how the **** do people get tattoos there?

T-shirts, shorts, sandals, ear plugs. Or anything better is fine.

But then again if you're 5 foot tall and pushing pass 180, no BDU, cargo pants, shemagh, baseball cap, taliban beards in this world are gonna make you high speed.
