This reminds me of the ACLU defending the right of the American Nazi Party to stage a march in full Nazi regalia through the Jewish neighborhood in Skokie, Illinois. Someone should shove that rifle up that kid's butt. Just because a person is aware they have a right doesn't mean they should make a mockery of it.

When people prove they have no idea how to exercise a right with simple common sense, it makes it a lot easier for the majority to justify stripping that right away.

If his family were worth a nickel, military or not, they would get the kid into intensive therapy, now.
    LOL.

What's with all of these people against the bill of rights posting on a gun related forum lately? Unlike the first anti 2a guy, now we've got someone who is anti 2a and anti 1a.

Why would this young man need intensive therapy ? There is only 1 person complaining on the video. The person that is complaining needs to be educated on what country we are living in. He seems like a mild, well mannered person, yet you want to shove his rifle up his butt. Sounds like you are the one that needs therapy. My hats off to him. At least he lives where he can exercise his 2A rights.

You guys and your narrow absolute thinking are killing me... Khromos rant above is not anti 2a or anti 1a...Its about personal responsibility and acting like a sensible human being.

Parading around saying "you cant prove that what im doing is illegal based on the constitution!" is childish and counter productive. Its like a teenager who must push every school or household rule to the exact letter. "You told me not to walk out that door you didnt say dont sneak out the window!" How do we deal with that as parents?? We rephrase the rules...

Our government is no different. Just look at the legislation pushing through california and the nation right now as we speak. There are better ways to stand up and fight for what you believe in, many of which are facilitated by this forum.

If your gonna stomp around and accuse people of HATING FREEDOM and HATING 2a, then close the stupid Adam Kokesh tantrum videos and participate like a civilized 21st century American.

Plain view chief, nothing is being "searched".

          Is it registered to you?
"I don't have to answer that".
Why? What purpose does it serve to refuse to answer that? To make the whole thing take longer? To make yourself look like more of a prick?

          "It is against the constitutional."
No chief it isn't. Idiots like this are the reason we lost open carry.

Nice to see the officers handled it so professionally while the guy shooting the video handled it so poorly. Then again, he's an attention whore and he was clearly trying to cause this exact scene from the start.

If I were to guess, the kid seems like he's a few nuggets short of a happy meal.
As others have pointed out, he's got AR mags and a bolt action rifle - hmmm. Seems like a nice kid, but pretty misguided.
I'm more to side with the woman in the video.
If your purpose is to pick up trash, your tool set should be a grabber and a trash bag, not a rifle and plate carrier.
If you're there to be a neighborhood watch, then switch to a black carrier that and get a "Security" patch for the back - and take some people with you who know what they're doing.

Most likely the kid is harmless, but he doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer.
To say that it is because of these people that we lost our open carry is post hawk airgo propter hawk. Not only that, but if no one open carried when it was legal, did we really have the right. If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, did it really make a noise?

A sensible human being understands what this means:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

With regards to California, it is the culture and political system which is abdicating responsibility and common sense. The kid in the video is in fact quite well within his rights to carry whatever rifle he sees fit in the open. The witnesses who disagree have the sensible right to shut their traps about the matter.
The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.

The 1911 may have been in wars for 100 years, but Masetro Bartolomeo Beretta was arming the world 400 years before John Browning was ever a wet dream.

Yes well its well within his rights to cover his face in duct tape, and fill his pockets with cheez whiz too...

Im not sayin he should be arrested for being retarded. But maybe his mom should buy him a bicycle helmet for everyday wear, thats all.

And if he so choose to do so, it would be the concern of whoever does his laundry. Unless that's you, his exercise of his rights is none of your concern.

                  WTH?

No groups or gatherings and no rifles? Our rights would be safe if everyone only open carried pistols, and only as individuals?

Lmao. My point was that just because its within his rights doesnt mean its a good idea...just like marching around with a rifle. But youre right its not my concern... not until theres a similar mentally challnged person doing this in my neighborhood around my kids.

Funny I have read a lot of this thread and no one has mentioned the fact that the news outlet clearly states that "plenty of neighbors thank him", but yet they give this concerned woman the spot light. I would like to hear both sides.

The media is a crock of ****, beware of anything that is motivated by ratings and money to give an honest opinion, unlike this kid.

The good part here is that he is picking up garbage, I pick up about 10 to 15 pieces taco bell and Starbucks garbage every week. And there are garbage cans everywhere! Darn kids, sometimes I want to carry a rifle and a sign around saying littering fine is being shot in the foot.

With that being said, is this good for the 2A abroad? I doubt it, Anti gun nuts will jump on this likes flies on **** when this kid does something stupid. Just because it is his grandfathers gun doesn't mean he knows how to properly use it or know how to react under pressure.

You want to know the real reason why we can't have nice things?

Because people like Feinstein, Bloomberg, Obama, Schumer, and all the rest of those socialist and commie-loving traitors say we can't have nice things.

The Proletariat are not allowed to have nice things!

Only our selfless leaders who sacrifice so much for our benefit can have nice things.

Pretty certain that the scenario went like this:

Easily offended woman is offended by seeing white guy with gun. Fat woman's children are "afraid" of armed white guy (Question: Have they been brought up immersed in a "thug culture" where black "gangstas" having guns is "empowering", but white people having guns is "scary"?).

                                Easily offended woman calls police.

Police tell her that he is not doing anything wrong, and if he starts to threaten people, she should call them back.

Easily offended woman talks to neighbors about this supposed "outrage", neighbors say "He's a harmless geek who likes to carry a rifle and pretend he's keeping us safe while he picks up trash that someone's kids have left in the street, we're okay with that."

Easily offended woman calls local TV station, in hopes that she will find someone sympathetic to her viewpoint.

TV station comes out, interviews easily offended woman, can't find any other neighbors who are concerned, produces and airs moderately anti-gun story in hopes of reaching hoplophobes who will freak out.

Hoplophobe sees story in internet, starts thread on CGN (supposedly pro-2A site) and gets comments supporting his anti-2A position.

And that, in a nutshell, is why we can't have nice things.
