Sorry to hear about the mix up with your gun. And your right some of the previous comments have been slightly out of line, however, your starting to make it hard to sympathize with you any more.

If you want to complain about "a bunch of trust fund baby limbs trying to recon for their overlord" who should in your opinion "grow up". It would be best if you did not encourage the behavior by reciprocating.

It's all in the details of your story. I believe somebody else reading could conclude that a straw purchase was made on your behalf.

I would like to understand how explaining the whole situation, describing the problems and then publicly slandering the FFL you purchased the gun from is ALL ok in your book - but posting pictures would not be "appropriate"???

If you bought the firearm in person and picked it up in person it's my opinion you have no leg to stand on.

You should have field stripped it and carefully examined, among other things, wear areas like the frame rails and bore before paying for it.

You're SOL.

When we DROS a handgun in CA the serial # is written on the DROS and we take a copy of the DROS and go home and wait 10 days. Check the serials, if they are the same, you're still SOL.

Sure are trying to win our hearts and minds with all the comments on this page. We get it that you are upset. For the most part people are trying to help you and/or save someone else from something similar happening in the future by saying what should have been done to prevent this. No matter what you left the shop without inspecting the firearm enough. Man up and take some responsibility instead of immaturely lashing out.

Of course the serial number matched the paperwork.
But is it the serial of the one you inspected? I doubt you really know.

You're claiming that the pistol you received is not in the same condition then the one you looked at.

IMO there are 3 options of how that could be:
1 The one you inspected is not the one you received (This is common practise at some FFLs. That is why I said you needed to have asked and taken note of the serial number yourself)
2 It was damaged by handling or use during the wait
3 You didn't inspect it well enough.

I don't know what to think of this thread. I give the OP the benefit of the doubt but that picture sucks. Is that bigfoot? It looks like all the hazy out of focus pictures on UFO's and such.
I would like to see more pictures. Now that you know how it should be easy to post more. Like showing the whole gun.

I went into that store the other day. Seemed ok to me. They had lots of ammo though not really the popular calibers. I bought some cleaning fluid and patches. They had lots of used handguns. Some looked well used. I can't imagine a large place like that doing a switch to make a few extra hundred dollars. If this story is true, it is probably a mistake. I would have gone back to the store the same day. Not wait for a manager.

I can't wait to hear the rest of the story. I wonder how long before we hear it.
