It's all in the details of your story. I believe somebody else reading could conclude that a straw purchase was made on your behalf.

You are not going to get rust-pitting on a Smith Model 327 Scandium-framed (and outer barrel, other than inner-stainless-steel liner) firearm. And you won't get other-than-red-oxide corrosion on Scandium in 15 days, let alone 15 decades, unless you leave it sitting in an acid, alcohol, or ammonia puddle.

You are seeing something else. Just word of warning, so when you tell them it has rust-pitting, they don't laugh at you.

And waste your time further? You were told to wait until Wednesday when something could actually be done. I would follow it. Other than that, yes, lots of bad anecdotes about that dealer.
