Gun Store Nut

Two sides to the story, and you weren't there either.
My assessment was based on why someone would rationally act that way. Apparently it was the way the owner felt. Perhaps locking the gate could have avoided this.
The alternative assessment is that he was some rogue yahoo who wanted to scare people with his gun. I don't buy that.
And, situational awareness from both parties could have avoided this so it seems. As Einstein has shown that it takes infinite energy to accelerate a mass to the speed of light, Obama AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE will demonstrate that it takes infinite money to attain utopiaComment

I think Someone needs a vacation .
I understand it was what you consider to be late, but he drove by and saw lights on and someone in the lot . With the current gun climate , it's not unreasonable to think you may get more honest customers who don't know your stores hours. Or that stores may be open later to deal with the surge.
With how scary your location is , and your "situational awareness" I would think you would close your gate. If not for your protection, for the family that actually pulls into your lot looking to buy.
If you make a mistake, own it. You skinned your smokewagon on a SUV with a family in it because your scared. Don't try to blame them for stopping at a store with lights on , gate open and cars in the lot. You were in the wrong , period.Originally posted by TeddyBallgamemaybe I'm wrong, but, if a $50.00 investment can help me a bit, i'll just have to go a day without the hookers and blow to cover it

I understand both sides, sounds more unfortunate than anything else
I would hope the gun shop owner could implement another pre-safety measure for him and his business, before having to pull his firearm...closing the gate would be a logical choice...take away the confusion
And, OP, had he been a CCW permitted person, it could have been conceivable that he himself may have been lead to believe that he was interrupting a burglary in progress, and, fearing for the life of his family and himself, after being drawn upon...well, it could very well have a very bad outcome

I can only assume its a California thing.
All that cash plus guns. Why not lock the gate and post someone with an AR in a discreet position?
I am not going to second guess anybody in a situation like that.Comment

Well said.
From what I've read the op did both. He handles it privately and decided to post his experience here.
The only people likely to get upset over this being posted in a forum are the shop owner and people that think for some reason he did nothing wrong.Comment
