froglube is awesome. ive used the paste in:
-knives:makes it super smooth and fast to deploy.
-Glock 17 & 19: lather it on after each shoot. smooth as butter and no fails.
-Rem 700 sps tac: use it to clean the bolt and barrel.

and im a big bass fisherman, so ill be trying this out in my reels and see how it does.

That's one thing I forgot to mention. Definitely good for cleaning knives. My ole trusty buck knife was recently cleaned with the stuff. It was caked with goo but frog lube cleaned it up good.

I have a few thousand rounds through my CZs and about 500 through my AR using frog lube. I won't go back to using anything else. The stuff rocks.

I just purchased the 4oz combo pack of frog lube from Just Guns here in Sacramento for $25. So far it is by far the best CLP product I have ever used from a cleaning and lubricating stand point. I have zero rounds with it, so I cannot speak on that aspect yet. I cleaned/lubricated my glock 19, SA TRP Operator 1911, and Romanian CA/922r complian AK and I can honestly say none of them have ever felt as smooth from a hand cycling stand point. It even makes the finish feel smooth. Since its not oil based it actually wipes off when you want it to!

I am what some would call a firearms lubricant fanatic. I own and have used:

Break Free CLP liquid spray + aerosol, Gun Butter liquid + grease, Slip 2000 EWL, TW25B, Gun Grease, Super Lube, Lubriplate SFL-0, MC2500, G96 CLP, G96 Synthetic Gun Oil, Ballistol, Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Extended Performance 5w-30, Royal Purple Synthetic 5w-30, FP-10, Weapon Shield, Militec Oil, Militec Grease, eezox, m-pro7, rem oil, tetra grease liquid and spray, hoppes elite, outers gun oil, zero friction aerosol + liquid, blue wonder, shooters choice grease, jardines extreme grease, gunslick ultra-lube, RIG grease, Brian Enos Slide Guide, lithium grease + spray, wd-40, sta lube molygraph grease, sta lube red bearing grease, and who knows I may have missed some.

I use it on all my handguns except my Springfield XD-S. For some reason the XD-S just demands that I use Tetra grease on the slide rails if I want it to cycle properly, so that's what it gets. It's too bad, because my guns that get Froglube clean up much more easily.

Both liquid to punch the barrel and paste to put on the outside. I swear by it, it's all i use.
Weird thing is after you put it on properly it looks dry til you fire it.

Do you know of any videos showing someone putting the Frog Lube paste on their 1911? I'm picking up my first 1911 next week and not sure how much to use on the rails/barrel.

I have found that there is no such thing as too much oil on a 1911. Since everything is metal to metal on the vast majority of all 1911's it pays to use good lubricants. I used a combo of the liquid and the paste. Liquid goes everywhere and paste goes over the liquid in the harder wear areas. I do this for all of my firearms though. Never had a problem from running them like this. This includes glocks, 1911's, pump shotguns, AR's, AK's, Ruger 10/22's, Berettas, Baby Desert Eagle, and many more.

I wouldnt want to use just the paste on my firearms though since it's too thick at normal temperatures to get into all the areas where it needs to be.

I followed the froglube instruction and heated my 1911 up with a heat gun and then spread the paste over every surface and all the parts, it liquefies and spreads out nicely, let it sit for 20 minutes then wipe off excess and reassemble and enjoy. I'm quite happy with it so far, did a 350 round tac pistol class and had zero lube related issues with the gun.

+1 Frog Lube absolutely loves the heat gun. It gets down into everywhere this way

So did you just evenly coat all the internals of your 1911 while it was heated up? Or did you put more paste on the rails compared to other areas?

I completely disassembled it and heated everything up and coated with the paste let cool and then wipe off excess. I did however add a little extra of the liquid to the rails before reassembly. Stayed slick for me even after about 400 rounds of the cheap walmart federal bulk packs that are fairly dirty.
