I haven't been able to follow everything as closely as the rest of you, but I'm having fun yelling at the set whenever a 1911 shows up on the screen

After Jay's post here I pretty much assumed he had a logical reason for not switching. However regardless he didn't do a good job communicating it making him look like an *** to the instructor and the teammates. A simple "I don't want to change what I'm used to in the middle of a competition, but this might be good to try later" would have solved a whole lot of drama. But then again, what's the point of these shows if there's no drama?

i thought his comment "dont teach me how to shoot, teach me how to shoot faster" was pretty dumb. teaching you to grip the gun better IS teaching you how to shoot faster.

From watching Jay on the TV show, I wondered if he wasn't an engineer. (I tend to skip past the non-shooting stuff, so I didn't know he was a golf instructor til I read it here.)

Many technical people communicate in a similar manner to what we've seen on the show. Very efficient, very brisk, without needless back story. I give you my goal, you get me there.

Non-techie people find it very disconcerting.

Given how precise golf is, I'm not surprised to see a similar mindset.

not likely given the comments from his team from the post interview. Like the guy above posts. Some people communicate in a fashion that can be misconstrued.

The shooting and different weapons made me a fan of the show from the get-go. Now, the drama has turned me off to the point that I will not make it a point to watch. The producers knew when they picked for this season that there is a constant battle between the marines and navy. It was done on purpose to create drama.

I just figure that it is a show that focuses on guns and shooting that is not too far out of the mainstream. If they want drama, and it makes the show more popular, then I'll not whine the drama.

We can't have everything, and this is a small, successful step towards the mainstream for shooting.

It was much more exciting than I expected...I would say they took a lot of lessons to heart from the first season

Based on episode 2, I would think exactly the same thing. What you didn't see is that we were all helping each other out, but they chose to show only me talking during practice and only Daryl's commentary. The combination makes for great TV but not a good impression of me at all.

The instructor was helping Ashley before me who was left handed and then gave me instruction as if I were left handed.

As far as the shape of my head, it has little to do with my shooting ability, but depending on the person you are, when you're being critical, why stop at relevance right?

I'll be at OC Indoor Shooting Range in Brea today at about 2. If you wanna get the real story about episode 1 and 2, come by and say hi. Just look for the Asian guy with the funny shaped head. And, maybe have a chance to compare yourself to someone who made it on the show. If you can shoot your gun better than I can shoot YOUR gun, then maybe you should try out for season 4. If not, you just need a little more practice

BTW, from a guy close to the industry and friends with a lot, many people know the spin and editing of reality shows in particular. Don't sweat it. Just get me below 90.
