Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

i'll be honest. I own two glocks (19, and 20) and three 1911s,(wilson, nighthawk, and colt series 70 major custom work). I love them all and could never part with either of em. the 19 is my go to gun in case **** really hits the fan, and in the rare occasion my command clears me to deploy with it. I never clean it, i never take care of it, but it goes click bang and hell, i even do amateur competitions with it. it is fast, accurate, cheap to shoot, and has high cap mags. for those overseas assignments it cant be beat. I know it will go click bang everytime.
I love my 1911s cause they shoot better than I can, they make big holes, and they just feel right. Would i trust my life with it 100%? No, cause I have to do maintainance on them. No not a lot of maintainance, but its not a gun i can just hand to someone and tell them to shoot it. Plus, ammo is expensive and its nowhere near as common (if not impossible) to find overseas. For purposes of travelling CONUS, where I can have basic tools and access to ammunition, I rely and stick to my 1911.
Its all about the right tools for the right job. If I was ever law enforcement and had the option to carry what I want for a sidearm, id definitely choose the 1911. Environments are not that hostile stateside. Overseas though where I don't **** for logistics, i'll stick to my glock. For Sale!!

Plenty of Glocks in the sandbox as of this minute.
1911 is a proven firearm with over one hundred years of history. Although, there are many variations on the market today the design is time tested to be a great weapon!
Glocks are made of polymer plastic and although light in weight they are not made nearly as well as a Kimber 1911! I currently have have a Warrior 2 and it is a phenomenal gun!
I would take it over a Glock any day! Just my personal opinion!
What say you all?
I don't think the Les Baers, Wilson, Nighthawks, Kimbers would stand a chance after a sandstorm. For range use they are great. Going into combat with one of them I would make sure to have a cleaning kit and a timeout sign by my side at all times.
I can carry a Sig, HK, 1911, etc.., I chose a Glock! Anytime, any place, under any condition it works. They don't call it Glock Perfection for nothing!Last edited by SIP2000GLO; 07-28-2009, 5:29 AM.Comment

Of the nearly 40 handguns I currently own, 7 are Glocks and 5 are 1911 types. I've also been reloading for nearly 30 years and have never had a kaboom or double charge although I have had a few squibs. I've loaded so many rounds over the years that I've actually worn out major components on several presses and broken others from metal fatigue. Of all the handguns I've owned, shot, or evaluated, my choice concealed carry gun is the G22 and second is a custom original alloy framed Para that has proven it's reliability over several years of IPSC matches. I can confidently say that Glocks are well designed and reliable when used with quality factory ammo or properly hand loaded cartridges. I understand that most of the "kabooms" involving Glocks were with the 40 cal versions and involved improperly hand loaded cartridges which led to bullet setback. It is well known that modern, high pressure cartridges like the 40 S&W are less tolerant to changes in case volume as a result of bullet setback. However, every year millions of hand loaded rounds are shot by IPSC and IDPA competitors through Glocks without incident. I am confident of my own careful hand loading abilities and will continue to shoot my reloaded ammunition in my Glocks as well as trust my life to my G22's when I'm carrying them concealed.

Welcome to Calguns OP!
This topic has been covered many times, but since you own a Warrior, I understand your enthusiasm, as it is a phenomenal eating machine.KevinComment

Let me ask what I feel is a legitimate question in line with the OP's original thought.
If Glock had invented their design first before the 1911, would the 1911 ever have taken off like it did?
More importantly, tell us why you feel the way you do?"If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."
