Come on.. lets all admit it. The GLOCK IS THE BEST HANDGUN EVER and the 1911 is the worst that requires thousands of dollars to get it working OK.

    heh heh

Kimber SIS would jam because you'll need a full grip when engaging the beavertail; but with my Glock 30...works everytime."

So modify the notch on the beavertail or install a beavertail with a bump.

But once it is working, it is a superb fighting pistol.

But if glock's are gangsta guns then I guess all the LEOs are Gangbangers
          OK,

Glock is the official gun of gangsta shot-callers. They can afford it.

              1911 vs Glock.

1911's and Glocks are different guns.

I own both and given a choice, I prefer to shoot my Colt 45. For me it feels better, I prefer the trigger and I shoot better with it even though it is a stock Colt 1991 model.

I currently have two Glocks, they aren't bad guns, they just don't have the same feel as the Colt.

Logically Glocks have features that may make them better than 1911's, still, I prefer my Colt to the Glock.

The Glock's safe action trigger is something that always made me nervous.

Yeah I keep my finger off the trigger, but still, the instant deactivation of the safety when your finger hits the trigger still makes me nervous.

Sure, the safeties on my Colt are deactivated as soon as I grab the gun since by reflex I hit the manual down and the grip safety is automatic, but I'm okay with that.

they are different guns. Comparing 69' mustang to a cheaply made import racer.
That being said I choose the import. The nice 69' fastback cost too much for what Im getting. its an outdated design. If I'm a serious driver with a need for speed, i get the import.
Glocks are lighter, extremely reliable, and have higher mag capacity. 1911's look nice and shoot 45's. better target shooters and are rugged. like the mustang I suppose. But race them, and it is clearly outdated. sorry. im a young guy.
I can get two glocks for your one 1911. Why...would...I...uh seriously

i like my Kimber .45 and i have shot a glock and i was not impressed one bit. i like the .45 because of it's stopping power. however the KImber does fit my hand quite well. and it is a personall preference and that is what we like or dislike. the Glock is not comfortable in my hand. Ruger wheel guns do not fit my hand well due to the fact the grips are small. my S&W 629 .44 is a great fit.

Jcat, I'm sorry but your points still don't prove anything. Why compare a $500 gun to a $2000 gun? Even by your own post, you said the high end ones work perfectly, eventho I disagree but there is still a huge price difference.

If you want to believe that the 1911 is the greatest thing ever made then go head but you are stuck in your way and nothing is going to change it.

I'm sure you are aware of the 1911's proven service record?

for instance 1911 has proven itself in almost 100 yrs. of service? WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Beruit, and some in Iraq and Afghanistan these places come to mind. I would say the 1911 platform has been in some really adverse conditions. i have not seen a Glock in any military theater the US has operated in. that is US forces only though.

                            Hybrid,
Maybe Jcat should give up one of his 1911s to get dragged behind a truck like the glock in the video I posted. Afterwards we can see which one still works.

Do that to a 1911 and see if it will still fire.

Still 1911 or Glock is still a fine gun but I pick a glock but would like a 1911 also.
i noticed one thing that he field stripped the pistol after dragging it in the dirt. also i would never treat any firearm that i would put my life on the line like this. also only a fool would do this and not inspect the weapon to see if it is safe to fire. i also noticed that pistol gets all kinds of crap in it. again i would never treat a firearm like this to prove a point.
