1911 vs. Glock wars! Which one is better!

Man, there are a lot of neophobes in this thread! I like the 1911 platform, but it's 100 years old. Just admit there is better stuff out there now! No one has any factual basis for their "Glocks suck" comments.

1911's make a better impact weapon.

1911's better protect you from KB with all that steel.

1911 magazines last longer.

1911's are older and wiser.

1911's are more concealable.

1911's have steel sights that stay intact if bumped by a hard object.

1911's can kick Glock arsch, even on Sunday.

Jesus carries a 1911 (in .38 Super)

And we all know what Chuck Norris thinks of Glocks.

Well, my friend had a Kimber 1911, and a Sig 226, I shot both many times, the sig was more reliable

then again, my M&P was more reliable then either.......

Believe it or not, the only malfunctions I ever had in any of my 1911's were self induced by loading the ammo too light for the spring weight. I have never had any issues with full power loads.

If Chuck Norris doesn't like Glocks, then I'm buying two...

I just shot my 92 year old 1911 and there was no issues what-so-ever. I also shot my new Glock and two rented Glocks, those had no issues either.

The 1911 is a platform much like the AR. It's chief benefit is customization. It's hard to find two 1911's that are the same when you're at the range (save kimbers). Everyone has a Glock, and after shooting mine today I can see why.

This comparison really is apples to oranges, unless you compare a single 1911 manufacturer against Glock.
