To my knowledge, the livescan won't change anything. There is "folder" on someone's "desk" that has a task that isn't completed yet. That's what the initial delay is/was. Until that random person (who is likely poorly compensated and unmotivated) completes that task, you'll be delayed.

I'm not sure if it's the best analogy, but if a car breaks down on the road and no one ever moves/tows that car out of the way, all the traffic backs up behind it. Except this road is only for you, so like if someone blocked your personal driveway I guess.

You basically have a few options:
1. Always buy from an FFL that releases on undetermined (see my signature)
This means you may have to wait 30-31 days instead of 10, but that's better than nothing.
2. Risk buying from an FFL not in my signature (if they do release, let me know and I'll add them)
3. Spend lots of time and money with FPC or another legal team to get CA un-f***ed (good luck).

While #3 is the best for all of us, I'm not sure it's the main fight anyone is taking on right now so most of us will stick with #1.

With all due respect I would like to fill you in to what I feel is the situation regarding the delays sure it might be some folder on someone's desk but if you look back to when the scandemic was going on people were at home working so there was no folder on no desk it was the employees with their case files doing it from home and still there was delays understaffed overwhelmed Etc. But let's take a deeper look at this I've been a part of this thread since I got my first delay first time buyer and it went to 30 plus days then I went and got another one and it went 30 plus days then I went and got another one and it went 10 days so to say that it's because of one person or one case worker or one agent or whatever the case may be is selling the situation short. Auckmans razor or whatever that guy's name is is the most simplest explanation is usually correct one and the most simplest correction is that it is backdoor gun control to wear you out to wear you thin , to make first time gun buyers that are Panic buying just throw their hands up and give up on the whole thing too persuade people that don't know that there's another option AKA undetermined release to just give up on the whole deal we've heard of CCW holders getting delayed law enforcement getting delayed long time 20+ year buyers getting delayed it's a stall tactic it's meant to discourage despair and deter that's my two cents on it sorry about the misspellings but I'm doing talk to text well I'm waiting currently for my current 10-day potentially 30 plus day dros to go through will we ever know the real reason why these delays are happening I don't know could it be that captain sniffsalot and his merry band of tyrants at the aft have directed all nics checks and directed all local state checks that you know doj to delay a certain amount of random percentages of applicants because I do feel that they are going to do whatever we allow them to do to thwart the process of purchasing firearms if they can't ban them they will make it to where you ban yourself from buying them whatever that means all right green light got to go

They wouldn?t sell me a gun after 30?days was up because they said it starts on pickup and not DROS application. So I didn?t buy there.

Well looks like I rolled the dice and crapped out this time.
Day 5 and just got a call with a delay . I read in a fpc email that a part of these new firearm bills coming down the pike I think they called it gunpocalypse anyway one of the bills was the right for the doj to enact a 30-day delay for any exceptional reason that they choose. so what I'm thinking is is that all these delays we've been having has been lithmus test to see how we would react for what they're going to to put into effect .because they now know nobody really will put up a big fight to stop it so they can just go ahead and do it all the time for whatever reason they see fit . This is not good and I think it's going to start to become the norm. everybody's going to be delayed soon.

Took my dros dice down to the lgs yesterday paid my entry fee and gave em a quick shake and let them roll. 2 delays and the recent approval on day 10 makes this roll anyones guess . Had the same counter guy as last time. maybe they like the way he types my info. No whammies no whammies

I got a brand new us optics 1x8 scope in box never used good glass simple hair reticle it's in the marketplace .for some reason I have this feeling I am not supposed to talk about the market place .

Well I got the letter today . I must say they are moving pretty quick . I got a delay and the letter all by day 10 . They must have the computer generated delay system linked up with the automated letter dispenser better .

How come it was a 40 day delay?

Don?t tell me the FFL told you the delay starts after the 10 day waiting period is up.

More of a comms/availability issue than him dragging his feet. He?s retired US Army and a solid 2A supporter.
