From the rumors I've seen/heard, if you get delayed once all your subsequent DROS will be delayed until that first one is resolved. But since the state isn't actually motivated to process your DROS (which is why you got delayed in the first place) there's no saying how long that will take to resolve.

I had two different the DOJ operators give me the wrong information. It’s almost like they’re doing it on purpose. I even had operator 208. that if you’re delayed, it’s because you’ve committed a crime now or in the past.

That's just it, you're not being delayed because they found something wrong. You're being delayed because someone didn't finish the task. So the task stays "pending" until someone gets around to finishing it. If there was an actual issue/reason you shouldn't be allowed to purchase/possess they'd just deny/reject you.

I got delayed 3 times, the 3rd time went threw after 20 days, I dros'd 8 more times since then with no issue. That was last summer. No live scan, I just played the waiting game and got released on undetermined twice.

I also had a DOJ undetermined delay. The FFL called me on the 30th day to come and pick up my pistol. I?m getting it tomorrow.

Took my dros dice down to the lgs yesterday paid my entry fee and gave em a quick shake and let them roll. 2 delays and the recent approval on day 10 makes this roll anyones guess . Had the same counter guy as last time. maybe they like the way he types my info. No whammies no whammies

To my knowledge, the livescan won't change anything. There is "folder" on someone's "desk" that has a task that isn't completed yet. That's what the initial delay is/was. Until that random person (who is likely poorly compensated and unmotivated) completes that task, you'll be delayed.

I'm not sure if it's the best analogy, but if a car breaks down on the road and no one ever moves/tows that car out of the way, all the traffic backs up behind it. Except this road is only for you, so like if someone blocked your personal driveway I guess.

You basically have a few options:
1. Always buy from an FFL that releases on undetermined (see my signature)
This means you may have to wait 30-31 days instead of 10, but that's better than nothing.
2. Risk buying from an FFL not in my signature (if they do release, let me know and I'll add them)
3. Spend lots of time and money with FPC or another legal team to get CA un-f***ed (good luck).

While #3 is the best for all of us, I'm not sure it's the main fight anyone is taking on right now so most of us will stick with #1.

That's because your "block" finally got moved through. So now you'll get all your normal 10-day periods until someone forgets to complete the task again and you get delayed.

I had one DROS Undetermined after that I did have a Firearms background check and since then I have DROS three Pistols since then without any problems. I now only use FFL's that will release on undetermined only why chance it happening again. The Firearms Livescan took them almost 6 months for them to send me the results and by looking at the date the Livescan was completed it took them over 3 months to mail it to me so they definitely delayed sending the report WHY "Just because they can"..

I must completely disagree with the bolded in parenthesis.

You are referring to SLACKER Ca DOJ employees, whose Public Service Union makes sure they are FATLY compensated. In salary , medical, and pension plans. They are "UNMOTIVATED" for sure. But simply because they are immune from any repercussions for their slovenly job performance.

Causation for this, is Jerry Browns gift that keeps on giving from 1977.

BUT!!

They wouldn?t sell me a gun after 30?days was up because they said it starts on pickup and not DROS application. So I didn?t buy there.

I am no expert, but I think they are wrong. I have had handguns on delay before. Then started new dros 30 days after the original DROS application was submitted. I?m sure someone here knows for sure.
