Has anyone here that has gotten an undetermined letter and their FFL refused to release the gun had a Livescan for the sole purpose to avoid getting undetermined again, if so did the Live scan help?

I am a RN, and therefore had gone through the Livescan process prior to getting an undetermined letter.Comment

Any given livescan is only valid for the narrow purpose which it was performed for. For instance a livescan performed for adoption or foster parenting has no meaning to a livescan for CCW, nor does either of those negate the need to perform a livescan for COE.
You could be required to give a livescan every day of the week for five different purposes. A single livescan would not be good enough. A livescan taken yesterday for reason X does not influence the need to take another one today for reason Y.Comment

Thanks do you know which live scan form you filled out it has to go to the Firearms record review, I did a live scan years ago for my teaching credentials and they are different some are the standard record review. It's better to have and not need than to need and not have"Comment

So this brings me to another question Are the CCW and Firearms record review live scans the same or different?Any given livescan is only valid for the narrow purpose which it was performed for. Well, mine came back undetermined. Dirty Bird, in Bakersfield, released my firearm. Turners, right across the street in Bakersfield, would not release, and refunded my money minus the DROS fee. Guess which one is more likely to get my business in the future.Comment

^^^^ FIFY ^^^^
YEAH THAT'S RIGHT ...... It was perfectly legal for them to deliver your lawfully purchased firearm. Since they CHOSE to NOT DO SO, of their own volition. They committed a BREACH OF CONTRACT.Last edited by pacrat; 09-16-2022, 10:51 PM.Comment

Finally picked up my new Springfield XD last week after 30 day delay and undetermined.
Didn't get the DOJ delay letter like I usually do, but shop called me after 8th day to tell me it was deeee-layed.
Currently waiting for my Browning Buckmark which I should get early next week if it's not delayed.

Received the attached (lightly redacted) letter from the Department of "Justice" (sic) today (September 19th) for my DROS of August 3rd. Supposedly generated on August 10th, and not sent until September 13th.
I've been approved for FOUR near-instantaneous Ammunition DROSes since, LOL.
Either Bonta's fiefdom is really FUBAR, or this is outright deliberate.
My DO"J" RAP sheet took only five days after Live Scan, and contains NO "disqualifying information" as implied by the letter.Comment

So the Department of "Justice" (sic) tells us. In reality, any Live Scan for a "sensitive" position is going to show you details, if any, of "disqualifying" records. DO"J" just wants the money and to frustrate exercise of rights.Any given livescan is only valid for the narrow purpose which it was performed for. For instance a livescan performed for adoption or foster parenting has no meaning to a livescan for CCW, nor does either of those negate the need to perform a livescan for COE.

If we had ANY leadership in this State, this scam would be smacked down already.Comment

They refunded you everything you paid except the DO"J" extortion fee? I can't fault them on that, since the fee was taken by the pimp named Bonta. They should release, but their lawyers tell them that's "too much liability." On that, they have guilt.Comment

So you had a Firearms Live Scan and it took only 5 days for the results, I had my Live Scan on the 29th of July and so far nothing when I check online ig get in Progress.Received the attached (lightly redacted) letter from the Department of "Justice" (sic) today (September 19th) for my DROS of August 3rd.
