I asked the guy why and he said it's above his pay grade he smiled and said he honestly does'nt know why the 28 and not 30 days.

Because they can and nobody does anything about it. 11 days keeps them from releasing early and 28 days keeps them from releasing too late.

Just don't buy from them anymore

And instead support one of the FFLs on the Spreadsheet of FFLs that release on "Undetermined" status from DROS.

You can also help out by submitting FFLs in this thread or submission form.

Which is the same kind of 'just to be sure' nonsense I've cited in the past, that mirrors the nonsense in not releasing on 'undetermined' when the law clearly states they are to do so.

I would not be surprised to hear of such FFL dealers requiring you to buy two handgun locks with each handgun purchase 'just to be sure' you have one in case the first one breaks or is lost.

                It really sucks.

Let me ask you, did you include your SS number on the dros paperwork?
There is nowhere to put your SSN on the DROS.

That is on the 4473 and optional. The state DOJ and Feds do not cross reference the 4473 form for information, so putting your SSN on the 4473 does nothing and will not alleviate these issues nor get communicated to the CA State DOJ.

Even when the NICs gets approved, California has its own background check system and protocols with broader reach into State records, pending cases, and includes a wider variation of data than NICs, and yet the SSN is not a variable utilized on the DROS paperwork. (4473 is not DROS paperwork.)

One has to wonder if this all isn't a ploy to get that as a requirement added to the DROS (among many other goals of underground gun control, hostility to gun owners by Bonta, and reducing sales volume any way possible.)

That's going to be a long list. Let's hope not too long.

The list is for good guy FFLs, those that DO release on undetermined. If it's a long list, that's a good thing.

Just completed my pickup from RifleGear today.

They were very punctual in letting me know that I could pick up.

                        They are good to go.

                                Bolded..not entirely true..depends on situatation.

                                Some data points:
I had 1 customer who got 2 delays in a row.
I have another customer that received 2 delays in a row (none ever on the 20-30 before that) and after the 2 delays in a row his next DROS was fine again.
