You could step up and do that.
Everyone loves to say that "we" should do something but rarely does the "we" include the one making the statement.

Here is a perfect example of a guy that stepped up and did something helpful:

You could be just like that guy by starting a thread and keeping it updated as people post their findings.

They can SELL you a gun online without the actual gun in inventory but you will not be able to go to a store and DROS that gun until they get the gun in inventory.

They absolutely can not start the DROS without the information from the actual gun including make/model/caliber/serial.
And it has to be in there hands, at Turners. No more taking the number from the computer...
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

          Quick question :

I DROS'd a handgun, and then two (stripped) lower receivers on the tenth day of the handgun wait. So two separate DROS.

Would that trigger the 1 in 30 day rule? Or do stripped receivers not count as a centerfire rifle?

Maybe that's why my DROS was delayed?

It's extremely easy to do a chargeback with a Chase credit card. You don't even have to talk to anyone. Just go online and make the claim by pressing a couple buttons it goes through immediately.
Of course the store is allowed to dispute the chargeback but in my case there is nothing they can argue. I never took possession of the item in question because they never released it to me as they legally could have.

Don't take BS from anyone you can dispute it. Always use your credit card because your bank will give you the benefit of the doubt if a dispute arises.

Because as stated. Your FFL is either an extreme DumbAzz. Or he is FOS and lying to you.
No lie, it's been bad. My May 8 Ruger Wrangler wouldn't be released until the AmmoBros got a letter from the DOJ. They contacted me on June 29 that they received a letter with some approval number and then I got the pickup. Ammo Bros has always been good on PPT these were the only two times I had issues.

Were any of them PPTs or were they all new dealer sales?
Are you exempt of the 1 in 30 rule?
It depends on how the lowers were logged in.
If you are not exempt and the 2nd FFL logged them in as semi-auto rifles, then that would absolutely trigger the 1-30 rule because you can not buy more than one dealer sale handgun or semi-auto rifle in 30 days.
I will guess that either you are exempt or the lowers were NOT DROSed as semi-auto rifles because the dealer would know that he can not DROS two of them to you at once if you are not exempt.

                Being exempt is great.
You go into a store and buy a semi-auto rifle and a couple handguns and put it all on one DROS and the store clerk gets all uppity telling you that you can't do that until you bust out your exemption and slap it on the counter.

^^^^ They lied to you. ^^^^

Another reason I call them "AMMO LIARS".

When they receive the "UNDETERMINED STATUS" notification, in their DES computer system, that is hooked direct into DOJ. Which actually takes a couple of days past the 30 day mandatory wait.

All they had to do is pick up the Friggen phone. And call DOJ and request the NICS number.

There is NO EARTHLY reason for them to have to wait to get the Freak'n SNAIL MAIL letter that DOJ sends. That often times takes a month or more.

REFER to posts #199 and 202 of this thread. By member "taperxz". He is a FFL in Ca. And he does release on undetermined.

This is wrong. DOJ does send a letter of undetermined that includes a NICS number in order to release the gun to the undetermined dros. That NICS number is in fact ANOTHER background check. The problem is that DOJ sends those letters out so late that it does no good and past 30 days.

The dealer can issue upon undetermined if they want but also must call into DOJ to get that NICS number instead of waiting for a letter that doesn't show up for 3-4 weeks.

To back track, The CA DROS number is only good for 30 days. That DROS goes undetermined and in order to release that gun, needs another background check and they use NICS. If you get the number via phone right away, you can deliver the gun but it absolutely must have a NICS number to put it on the 4473 or it was an illegal transfer federally.

So, It actually is a release. They just don't us that verbiage. The NICS number that comes with the letter is the approval to release the gun. When CA law says the dealer may deliver, it CAN'T DELIVER without the APPROVED background check from NICS.

I deliver on undetermined not because i im using my descretion but because i have an APPROVAL from the Federal Government to do so. No dealer gets to decide or not whats right or wrong when it comes to background checks.

The state couldn't figure things out to their satisfaction and after 30 days have simply left it up to the Feds and that background check. THATS RIGHT! There were TWO background checks after purchase and prior to release. One undetermined and the second was an actual APPROVAL.

If the state doesn't give me a NICS number back, that is a NICS denial.

Why would they delete something that helpful to the community and first time buyers? That's just retarded.

Because such a thread is not beneficial to the forum advertiser FFLs who will be included on the list.

A thread that WOULD potentially survive the moderators would be a list of FFL's that DO release on undetermined.
Then people could just go to those FFL's and they could make an assumption that the ones NOT listed on the thread may or may not release on undetermined since those "unknown" FFL's have not been added to the list.

wouldn't that be the same thing as making a list of FFL's who don't release on "Undetermined".

it is just a roundabout way of saying it since any FFL not on the list, i wouldn't visit as I would automatically already assume they won't.

                              NOT AT ALL.

Not naming an FFL is a bigly difference to naming them specifically.

One can assume, or conject, that someone not on the "Not a Turd" list, is a turd.

Yet if per chance, someone simply hasn't YET, added them to the "Not a Turd" list.

But a simple phone call resolves that. Just call and ask "ARE YOU A TURD"?
