I hope the OP feels better after venting, but I think his anger and frustration is mis-directed. I detest the CA gun roster, but I don’t blame exempt members from individually benefiting from the stupid rules/system unless they are working to keep the roster going. I blame the Democrat politicians and activists that have gotten these types of laws passed with the help of a greatly biased media, and an ignorant or uninvolved electorate.

Your thinking is in the right place but the "we're all in this together" idea went down the chute when people started realizing that those with given authority and saying it were sure to impose it on everyone but themselves.
Its almost like saying you have a Glock because if you ever need a magazine in a really bad situation they are all over and someone can give or lend you one. Where are those unicorns? No one will give anyone showing up with a Glock and no mags or ammo even one mag and ammo to fill it.
You are right, things have become dog eat dog and while I am in line to say people can sell and buy for whatever they want-it's their stuff, society has been turning on itself for sometime.
On gun forums there is a quaint notion that in some ways we're somewhat more concerned with the other guy, we have some affinity for each other through a shared activity and a greater than average support for our rights but that isn't true or at least hasn't been in a long time.
The more gun ownership became politicized the more others noticed and decided to see what was going on. Opportunists, never shy to taking advantage saw a ripe playground so here we are.
The solution is within ourselves, don't buy the over priced stuff and don't even read the ads.
CalGuns could perform a valuable service by requiring the Make, Model and asking price in the title along with the general location. Many venues that hot marketplaces do this, why not here? It wouldn't cost anything other than a change of posting requirements and some enforcement. No one gets banned for over charging, no one loses an ability to post guns for sale and everyone gets to see without clicking if the ad is worth reading.
This is something that could be done in a single day. If not, there has to be some reason for not doing it.Let Go of the Status Quo!

I must have went wrong somewhere. I tried to help connect interested folks to connect with a guy wanting to see some firearms, not sure if it worked, but I have never tried to buy a rifle or pistol from anyone on Calguns for sale lists.

Why would you be banned? ItÂ’s a common sentiment and an even more common thread. It comes down to supply and demand (and we know what the state and law enforcement unions did to demand). Guns and anything else will sell for what people are willing to pay. If you have a number in mind, see what the gun has sold for previously on this forum, or ask sellers- IÂ’ve always had prior sellers tell me their sale amountÂ… if your number is below that, people wonÂ’t take less money because you think you are special. If it has sold for a certain amount repeatedly, and it is listed for a few hundred higherÂ…. ItÂ’s often because sellers anticipate the low ball offer and will counter withÂ… surpriseÂ… what the gun normally sells for. In summary, your choices are- 1) do research, accumulate currency, buy items at their current market rate, 2) become exempt and pay under market value, 3) have vertical relatives gift you items from out of state, or 4) complain. The anti-gun people are quite proud of how the not-unsafe handgun roster is working. It is preventing poor people from buying handguns. If you are willing to drop 2-5k, you can get anything you want. If you can’t afford it, you can’t get it.Comment

Capitalism relies on supply and demand.
If you don't like or understand this maybe you would be happier elsewhere,
or at the very least, stop perusing the marketplace expecting deals.
Guys like this are the first to say, "No low ballers, I know what I have" when they sell...
And yet, when they are on the other side, they say something silly like, "Remember, we are here to help each other..."
If you want to sell your guns at below real market prices, knock yourself out...

Why dont you direct your anger where it belongs.. at the democrats and EVERYONE who votes for them, enabling them to impose draconian and pointless restrictions on the firearms supply that results in a rise in market prices.
The fact that MANY of these new firearms owners late to the party are quite likely to be democrats and democrat voting independents makes me smile and feel all good inside. Elections matter!
