    Banning for speaking up.

I've been on here since 2006 and I have donated and help many members here.

I feel I'm going to get banned today for what I have to say.........

Selling off roster firearms for some stupid prices to other members here has gotten out of control. I understand supply and demand but DAMN!

I feel sorry for you that have joined within the past few years. We used to help each other out here and help find items for a better price but that S^*T went right out the window!

You A**hole that are trying to rip members off can go....well you know.

By the way I haven't been trying to buy firearms and mad about the (Rape me prices so don't go there) I just feel many here are getting ripped off.

If you must have that firearm at that price, so be it.

Remember, we are here to help each other........ IIRC.
Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

CG is here to do both. There are things available here that you can't find. Take it or leave it, dox people for selling high if you want. They just make new accounts and will keep doing what they do. Some people have never been to a 3rd world country or made a craigslist deal. It's not Walmart, its a flea market.

I don’t know why you think you’d get banned here for stating your opinion.
I have experienced other forums like that, but have not seen it here

Doubt you will get banned unless you do this in the Marketplace to a seller.

Just us know what guns you are willing to sell at your original cost.
          (I get first dibs.)

It looks like you can vent here: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...ght=overpriced

          Edit:
It has been over 5 years since I have bought a gun on CG, more because of the roster than anything else.
My purchases here were fair prices IMO.
          A couple were great deals.

Around here you don't always get banned for what you say.

It's usually the way you say it.

Marketplace here is huge compared to other gun forums. This is also a huge forum altogether.
Some smaller, specific weapon forums I'm on, you see pretty good deals. A lot of sellers want their guns to go to someone who will really appreciate them. Unlike here. Noobs, Kooks and Neckbeards.

As I mentioned in another thread in this section, the whole Off Roster thing has become a joke. Yes, certain guns may have a premium attached, but chit, people are hawking crap barely above Hi Point desirability for dumb prices.
Myself, I find it almost amusing...almost.

I want it for 2/3 price. After all a car loses 30% the second you drive it off the lot.

Meh, willing to pay the price increase because of being behind enemy lines. Granted I have gotten pinched a bit but not the triple the price that is currently going for some models. For me it was worth it.

I'll bet when you sell your home you'll want top $$ plus 10%. You should totally sell it for well under market value to "help" a new family....

This has been going on for many many years it's all about supply and demand. I think I've bought one off roster pistol from a member here since I've been on this forum and yes it was way way over msrp but it was my choice. All of my other off roster pistols were purchased during the sse days before that got shut down.. If you don't like it move along

BTW... I doubt you'll be banned for you post RELAX.

I fault California politicians for creating a special class of people who can purchase an “off-roster” firearm and then turn around and re-sell it for a huge profit.

Everyone in California should have equal access…

I'm a new member here, just hit one year, but here are my 2 cents:

I've been very active in the marketplace, and there is one thing that has clearly stood out to me: Majority of the older members, lets say 2018 and earlier, have been AMAZINGLY helpful. Some have been so kind and genuinely down to earth that I have been left speechless multiple times. Where money could have been made, instead a friendship was formed. On the flip side, a lot of the younger members, lets say 2020+, have been some of the flakiest, poor communicating, entitled people I have ever met. A lot of them I end up never meeting, but the time wasted and other buyers lost is infuriating. I assume they are all 30 years old and younger, correct or not, based off of my own experiences in real life (for the record, I am 37).

Back to the original point of OP. I honestly believe the old Calguns that you speak of still exists, you just have to sift through a lot more crap to find it. A lot of older Calgunners I have met in the past year, those that befriended me, have already left California and are no longer on the forums. I find this to to be consistent as I see this in work too as my older clients all leave the state. As this continues and we get more of the younger generation in, I feel the "I want it now" entitlement will only grow, which will drive up prices. And when they realize they no longer want to be in this community, they're going to try to recoup their costs (or make a profit) on the next impatient buyer.
