Its more sad someone like you have no life beside hanging on to Calguns and all of sudden knows everybody. Grow a pair next time and answer the asked question or else move it along because your stick is getting old. But you get off on that. That's why many don't want to post on Calguns anymore because people like you. Go troll somewhere else. And I'm pretty sure I'm older than you are.
I answered the original question when I agreed with someone else who answered it and clowned you, guess you missed that. Men have an "insult culture." You talk about balls, yet you didn't have enough to bring up your problem with the tip jar with anyone in the store. Project much? How hilariously ironic, Karen.

Seems like not just tip jars, but also a bunch of tablets and card processing machines are asking for tip when you make a non-cash payment, all at establishments and for positions that one normally doesn't tip.

It's a sort of shaming with huge buttons that everyone can see and it's designed to make you feel bad the same way those animal or kid commercials are supposed to guilt you into paying up. It's actually sad that we have to suppress compassion and act callous in order not to be taken advantage of. Oh well...

This world needs more people like you.

I had this one frequent customer that would come in with his autistic son. They never bought anything, just liked talking about guns. One time i spent an hour and a half just showing around the store. The kid knew more about guns than anyone ive ever met. They were fond if collecting old brass, so i gave them a few different calibers i had laying around. The next day the kid came in with a thankyou card. It was amazing.

The gun community needs to look out for one another... and i dont think a tip jar is an obsurd way of sAying thank you..... but hey what do i kno lol

I have tipped for a PPT before directly to the LGS owner because he has an awesome shop and gave excellent service.

To that specific point I'd like to emphasize fairly. Its asking for extra money on top of what you already paid to the store, the store owner should pay their employees fairly with the money the store makes in profit.

Employee pay comes from money received for selling or servicing something. Where in hell do you think it comes from??

Sometime I would prefer a tip jar over direct tip. I usually just toss in the change, and would really feel wired handing someone like $2.35 as a tip. If there is no jar, I would have kept the change.

If a lgs does a PPT for me, I realize they don't get much out of the deal, so I try to buy stuff from the store. Reloading supplies, carry ammo, night sights, etc. That's the tip, and it's for the store for helping.
I despise when I Carry out food and they spin the iPad around asking for a tip.
If I sit down, order food, and the restaurant brings it to me, I tip. Or if the girl is really attractive.
Come to think of it, I might tip an attractive waitress who provides bad service more than an unattractive waitress that provides great service.
Maybe not, but I like attractive waitresses.
