I understand the law allows for the purchase of standard capacities magazines, and they can only be used in a RAW, BBRAW, or featureless [?], they can't be used in a fixed magazine firearm, like one fitted with AR features and a magazine locking devise. That's what I'm getting from what the Legal Eagles are writing.

I believe there are local ordinances which can be in play, but that isn't likely much of a risk for the out-of-state seller but significant for the local buyer.

I don't know of any other state law which would prohibit the sale, purchase, import, or manufacture of standard magazines.

However, you have to remember that the state can and will take your perfectly legal magazines as a nuisance(s).

And remember that in some cases putting a perfectly legal magazine into a perfectly legal firearm turns you into a felon.

We should be very grateful that the judge showed devotion to the law and Constitution and was brave enough to issue a very good judgement. But the ruling is necessarily limited to the case which was before him so even if you can legally own the magazine you may not be able to legally use it.

IMHO this is a very useful ruling and it has good strategic implications for the future.

But for right now I'd not even keep a 10+ round magazine in close proximity to a non-RAW if it has "evil features". I'd be worried about constructive possession (or whatever the proper term is) being used to claim that you are committing the felony because the magazine is clearly being used with the firearm even if it is not observed in use.

Not sure if it's been posted here yet, but here's an article that just came out on Fox News about new appointments on the 9th Circuit! My thinking is that this may help in overturning an appeal to the 9th. But, I'm just a guy. So, take that for what it's worth...

I have all the above but featureless. I did in the past, but it didn’t do anything for me. I still have the parts to construct a featureless rifle, though, and may do so just for the h*ll of it.

As soon as that picture appeared on my screen, before I even read the bottom I just KNEW that had to be Gunfighter Tactical. It's their unrelenting in-your-face attitude toward those those who would restrict our rights even at the cost of some profitable business for them, like their policy of NOT selling any items to LEO's that they cannot sell to us mere serfs, that makes them my go-to LGS.

That is a GREAT POLICY that should be ubiquitous across the entire USA. If it were, the 2A would be more consistently intact across America.

I’m not sure I am going to drill out ALL of my riveted mags, I have a feeling Ca govt won’t go down without a fight.

I will be buying pistol mags for my G19 and Sig though.
