Congratulations on the move, and the fine new trio of free state firearms.

Check out nearby Eureka Springs when you can. The Thorncrown Chapel and Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge are well worth a visit. And just a little further east is Wilson Combat, in Berryville. Bring $$ and a drool rag.

Very good advice. Renting a place for a few months also gives one a much more accurate picture of the actual cost of living in that area.

Been taking vacations to different states but its really had to figure out with one week vacations if that is really where we want to move. Texas, Arizona are top on our list right now, Louisiana is next mostly because I used to travel there for work so much and my wife loves the humid weather (I can't get rid of her, I am used to being with her).

Realistically, we wont move anywhere based on a weeks vacation, so likely will be 2 or 3 years before the big move.
East Texas is nice if you like warm humid weather, and it's in Texas. I liked FL weather too, but all the retirees seem to be screwing FL up pretty badly.

What is the plan for victory? If you are going to fight, fight too win right?

Awwww, butthurt much? I am so, so sorry your precious little feelings got ruptured. But, on the bright side, at least you can still ski and surf on the same day.

I don't ski or surf, but I would rather get out of California on the same day.

I like Utah but I'm not sure. Only passed through it three years ago on my way to Nebraska. I have considered Nebraska (my Niece & her family live there) but it is so frigging FLAT and there is virtually no public land.

I was born in Missouri but the family moved here to Cali when I was two months old. Visited my hometown three years ago and, while nothing special (it does have a Walmart lol), it is a nice area. Very little public land as well.

I've considered Arizona but most of it is similar to here in Bakersfield---- one season of warm and one season of hotter than hell. The cooler parts of AZ are out of my income range.

I had Colorado on my list but but it has turned to San Francisco-libtard. Nevada is now a blue state but Ill be watching the mid-term elections and hoping it goes back to red.

Maybe I'll just find some cheapie miniature piece of land in AZ so I can have an address & be able to get an AZ CDL but spend my time travelling around the Western US in a small travel trailer.

Don't know when I'll be able to move. I have been providing full-time care for my 86 year old Mom for 4 years now and she refuses to move. She is not able to care for herself due to dementia.

Folks just do your research and be careful. Climates are changing in states and so are social conditions. be prepared to blend in and not try to turn their community into another California. be prepared to give up your way of life here and it sounds like many of you are. We should be more interested in comments from people who have been someplace at least six months and what the advantages and drawbacks are for everything since most of you are talking moving families and schools, homes, jobs, and futures. Maybe those who have moved need to have access to us to help people make the right choices. if this state is truly beyond redemption then the survivors need all the information they can get.

I have a lot of respect for you here but you have to know how ridiculous this sounds.

To the rest of the whiners here, get over it. No one is forcing any of you to read these threads, you're just butthurt because for one reason or another you can't leave.

Nice to read the pros and cons folks. Keep the inputs coming that others like me who chose to stay behind ( for now) due to one reason or another may get well informed.

In particular, how is the health care choices of where folks had chosen to live. We are soon to be retiring and that helps.

                          Thank you ALL -

Great characterization of those who actually can fight, because they refuse to pay to for what I can only think you feel is a privilege to wear shackles.
