Is ammo in AZ or NV such an incredible deal and so much cheaper that it makes driving to those states worth the bother?? A round trip to Reno would take me 13 hours and cost $150 in gas let alone the wear and tear.

I wonder if tossing ammo over the border from the Nevada side is considered importing. You technically did not cross the border with ammo in your hands or inside a vehicle only the ammo crossed the border

Protect themselves from what exactly? Maybe you can show us all where it is not legal for a California resident to purchase ammo out of state? Bringing it into California is the issue, but that is on the buyer not the seller.

And I have never had a retailer ask for ID when purchasing ammo or magazines while out of state.

I was waved through on the 10 Sunday. I've only been stopped when I'm pulling a boat. I do notice that everyone with a box truck or trailer get pulled to the side for a quick look in the back.

Just because you haven’t been asked doesn’t mean when some schmuck goes to pay with a credit card and gets asked for his ID and the clerk see’s he has a CA ID don’t mean they won’t ask.

Again most places don’t care because they’re just trying to make a buck but some out of state FFLs get paranoid when dealing with CA

The point is WHY SHOULD THEY CARE? It is not against any law for a vendor, say in Nevada, to sell ammunition or magazines to a California resident that is in Nevada. Whatever the point is that you think you are making, it is not being made.
