OP, evidently being a felon is easier than being a law abiding citizen. You can own anything you want to. lol I am to the point where, I don't worry any more about it. I put fixed mags on my 4 ar's. If something happens, I'll deal with it.
I only have a good 15 years left on this old body. I'm must go to live and let live.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

After I moved to AZ, I took off the muzzle brakes and bullet buttons, bought a pistol with a barrel threaded for a suppressor, and loaded up the standard capacity magazines. It kind of reminded me of being young in California, when I didn't feel like a felon. It was/is very liberating. Go featureless for now but save all your parts in case someday you get free again.

This guy probably monetized this video and I bet he has purchased several more rifles with the proceeds. All funded by anti gun viewers. Genious!

Turn the gun into your local police station. Call them first to tell them you want to turn the gun in and find out when you can so that. When you arrive, leave the gun in your trunk, UNLOADED and go into the station and give the officer the keys to your car and let him / them go out to get it.

Just order the dang armaglok kit and be done with it, for now. If they outlaw that next year, take it out of state and sell it. Buy a mini14 / mini30 / m1 etc.... and give them the finger! .Hopefully Trump will get around to setting the states right when it comes to Constitutional stuff.
