Turn the gun into your local police station. Call them first to tell them you want to turn the gun in and find out when you can so that. When you arrive, leave the gun in your trunk, UNLOADED and go into the station and give the officer the keys to your car and let him / them go out to get it.

You can make it featureless for little very money (under $20 bucks). Remove flash hider - free, or buy a cheap muzzle brake (can probably even get one for free from someone who's generous, I have a few that are laying around that I dont even want)

Another option: You can sell it as is through Addax Tactical. They can ship it for sale out of state. They also send paperwork to the DOJ verifying that you are no longer the owner. It will cost $250.00 in addition to the 25%.

Choose your compromise, featureless of fixed mag!

Fixed mag set screw job costs $1 if you own a drill and tap, and the side loading gadget from Bear Flag Defense costs $40.

I found this doesn't mess with the ergonomics of the AR which is what I like the most about it.

He “joined” 4-1/2 years ago, but he’s just been monitoring the site since then. The ATF and DOJ have many “sleeper” accounts established at sites like this. They think it makes them less suspicious when they set their bait if it looks like they’ve been around for awhile. MikeWho could easily just walk into a local gun shop and ask them how to sell a nonregistered, “evil-featured” AR15, but that’s not what’s really happening here. He’s throwing the bait in the water and waiting for the solicitations to make an illegal buy roll in via PM.

I think he could sell it in parts. It is not illegal to sell the lower (without the handle etc.) and the rest of the parts.
