It doesn't matter how scary, ugly, uncomfortable, or inconvenient self defense can be. Like it or not, you will never, ever be relieved of your duty and responsibility to defend your life, your family, your country and your freedom.

How much ammo do I need? Enough to last me the rest of my life, and then lot more for later.

The government does not come knocking at your door. It comes knocking down your door.

          Tough crowd here.

It sounds to me like the guy is just trying to legally sell a no-longer-wanted rifle, and recover the as much of original investment as possible.

Several options have already been offered. It's now up to OP to decide how much time/energy he wants to put into it.

          Again, good luck OP.

Life lesson here, the government just loves "gotcha laws" which would ensnare even Mother Teresa.

But yet you haven't discussed in any depth of what you WILL do. You are so worried right? Lots of suggestions here. It seems the only time you have been on GGN has been to 1)Ask advice on buying a rifle and 2) Sell a rifle. All in just 10 whole posts. How can anyone "get" you?

OP's story smells very fishy for a guy who picked up fancy/expensive stuff and now has no ideas about anything!! and keeps pushing after many suggestions offered.

I do not believe the story.

^^^^^My point exactly!!! Waiting for someone to make a low ball offer for all that fancy stuff...and he will just claim not wanting to "do the [paperwork hassle" and wants cash to walk away...or worse... some cheap moron will offer him that deal... saves the entrapment issues.

Wrong....this will be done legally at an ffl. I understand the paranoia though.

Thanks again to everyone who has offered their advice.

I bought this rifle a towards the end of 2013 when demand was super high. I then relocated out of state for work and left it in storage. While gone, I never missed the activity and since returning to CA I've decided that I'd rather have some extra cash and peace of mind, so I just want to sell it legally.

Like someone said above......I'll just get a mini 14 if I ever want to get back into it again.

I'll be going to my LGS this weekend to try and learn more

Dude got his 12 minutes of fame. Hope it was worth cost of his weapon or life if he ever needed it to defend himself.
