I bet they failed to mention the huge population of mentally ill homeless folks in Berkeley. This morning while I was just walking past a bus stop I had a large, older black woman pull her pants down in front of me, yell at me, turn around and pee all over the sidewalk while still standing. I'd like to see them feature THAT in their magazine.

When we first moved here (WI) about a year ago, before my conceal carry license came thru the mail, I open carries twice...once to Walmart to get more ammo for a range trip, and to an apple picking orchard.

      No stares, no problems.

Come to think of it, not many open carries around here, saw another guy when we go to Walmart: either another veteran or out of state active duty service member.

Then a guy walking from his truck to his house, carrying a Glock with surefire x300 ...that doesn't really count as open carry though...

          But, but...
We've been told that if you open-carry, criminals will kill you on the spot because you are a threat. <sarcasm>
That's why we should always carry concealed. So that we can surprise the bad guys.

Yeah, honestly few people even notice if you are open carrying (except people from NY or CA) and I see a lot of people open carry when I am out and about in CO.

I think people like concealed because they are embarrassed to admit they have guns and carry one :-p

Carrying concealed is cool, open carry is cool, it's all cool with me! Because an armed society is a peaceful society.

Where you'll probably see a disproportionate amount OC in AZ is at the Grand Canyon due to all of the out of state visitors who are excited for the opportunity.

I just got back from Phoenix and saw two open carry guys. Both were in Phoenix. One did have a hi point in an uncle mikes nylon holster and the other-coming out of a restaurant had a Glock in a serpa-

Just try not to stare, that's a CA give away. I was in Rawlings in 1995, I didn't see any open carry back then.

I usually CC here in WA, but, the fact that OC is legal means I don't have to put my coat back on when I jump out to get fuel or worry about printing when out walking the dog, or any of a number of other ways I might reveal I'm carrying.

Even here in Western WA it doesn't cause a stir. It's the way it should be.

Open carry in dozens of other states is actually quite common. I open carried daily in Maine and Oregon and sometimes I would switch it up and conceal carry. I see folks carrying everywhere from grocery centers to malls to just hiking. Texas and California are not the end all be all for any gun related issues.

Was just in ID and WY and saw a few OC'ers. The small towns we were in, I had no qualms CC'ing my LCR in my pocket. I could have legally OC'd but do not have a holster. Ain't America grand

The funny looks we received were after they noticed our Commiefornia plate
