My preps are mine to keep. What i have set up as backup plans if they where to confiscate i am not about to blab out on this forum.

As has already been said multiple times, if THE BIG ONE hits, s**t is going to be so fu***d-up that the Authorities are going to have their hands full fighting fires, looters, trying to rescue people, trying to provide potable water because of all the broken water mains, etc, etc, that they won't have the time or manpower to attempt something as ridiculous as confiscating lawfully-owned guns from people trying to protect their property and loved ones.

Katrina had all those and confiscation still took place.

This is not Louisiana..If some real bad thing happened here and I was a cop or national guard I would be more worried about my family and friends and say screw going house to house. Calif is a big place not enough cops,maybe with the Guard they might cut it but I doubt it or if they would be willing.They live here too and sure it would cause retaliation on them if folk Knew what they are doing in real hard times...

Brooooo I've seen most guardsmen and reservists. Most of them can't shoot or know how to properly maintain their weapons. Trust me I'm not scared lol ��

I wasn't referring to being afraid, I was referring to the idea that I'd have a heck of a time justifying to myself that it's OK to shoot a National Guardsman or an LEO, or any other human being for that matter.

On top of that, you're basically committing suicide when you do it. What do you think the consequences would be if you shot at the guys knocking on your door? How 'bout a hundred armed guys who aren't going to show you mercy?

And as someone who served in the military, I was trained to survive, fight, and kill. So is every Reservist and National Guardsman. They spent a minimum of two full-time months of their lives learning how to do it, regardless of MOS. Not many civilians have had the equivalent in training.

Louisiana is more conservative than this liberal state so how will it not be worst? A major CA disaster like an earthquake is going to be localized to that area like LA or SF. You don't think they will pull in cops from other cities and have them go around confiscating like they did in Louisiana?

CHAPTER 7. California Emergency Services Act [8550 - 8668], ARTICLE 3. Powers of the Governor [8565 - 8574] , CA GC (Government Code) SS 8571.5:

Nothing in this article shall authorize the seizure or confiscation of any firearm or ammunition from any individual who is lawfully carrying or possessing the firearm or ammunition, or authorize any order to that effect, provided however, that a peace officer who is acting in his or her official capacity may disarm an individual if the officer reasonably believes it is immediately necessary for the protection of the officer or another individual. The officer shall return the firearm to the individual before discharging the individual, unless the officer arrests that individual or seizes the firearm as evidence pursuant to an investigation for the commission of a crime.

Then again, there's also this little gem:

8574 None of the provisions of this chapter shall limit, modify, or abridge the powers vested in the Governor under the Constitution or statutes of the state by proclamation, to declare any county, city and county, or city, or any portion thereof to be in a state of insurrection or to proclaim the existence of martial law and to exercise all the powers vested in him thereunder independent of, or in conjunction with, any of the provisions of this chapter.

Didn't CA have enough cops to send some to Louisiana and slam an old lady around? If something happens up north they'll send LEOs from Southern CA up north. I didn't realize an earthquake would take out an entire state population of 39 mill. I was referring to an earthquake happening to a large city, there is not 39 million people in SF or LA.

It looks like neither one of us is going to change the other person's opinion. I will continue to move forward with my beliefs that there will be gun confiscation and prepare accordingly. You can go about your blissful self thinking they will never confiscate anything you have.
