    Natural disaster, confiscation

We know what happened to gun owners during hurricane Katrina.

Since we're in the tolerant state of California that's just waiting for a huge quake to hit, I can see a similar scenario happening in this state. Specially with all the gun grabbers salivating at the opportunity.

When they do come a knocking, you either comply or resist. Damn that would be one ugly scenario.

Calif passed a law making that illegal. And, if they try it, they can keep what they can find. lol.

The California political pezzonovante could care less about ANY laws when they want to step on you.

My magic 8 ball says that >50% gun owners will sheepishly comply and the rest will not.
          It could get very ugly.

Prepare to be labeled a "home grown terrorist" for any refusal.

Door to door confiscation is pretty drastic and it worked in some poor parts of densely populated Louisiana, but it doesn't seem suitable or needed in CA.

In CA, the party in power is anti-gun and they can pass anything they want. Confiscation is via various bans and slow attrition. There is no need to make waves and try to go after people, when confiscation can follow what happened with standard magazines - ban import, grandfather existing, wait a decade or two, ban possession. That's why registrations are so critical to the gun control groups. It's much easier to send threatening letters and push self-compliance when the state knows who has what they want to ban.

Why do you have guns to begin with?

I thought Congress passed The Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act in 2006 after Katrina to stop this very thing..?

Yet, they found the time to do just that post Katrina. They even brought in out-of-state law enforcement to perform confiscations.

Wouldn't be surprised if they do it in San Francisco. City could be burning to the ground and they'll go around hunting down gun owners.
