This statement doesn't make any sense.

The gun bills have been out for some time. They were signed into law by the Governor. They went into effect 01 Jan 2017. Nothing is "non-compliant" as a result of them going into effect. "Non-compliance" isn't a thing for anything you owned legally prior to 01 Jan 2017 until 01 Jan 2018 rolls around, at which point you will have had to register/make featureless/make fixed mag in order to remain continuously compliant into next year.

What I'm more concerned with are the "overly compliant" rifles I've been seeing at the range. People with featureless rifles, poking a bullet button to drop their mags Seen that several times lately. Couldn't decide which way they wanted to make it compliant, so they chose all of them.

Even saw one featureless rifle with an armaglock, the guy was clearly having trouble pivoting his upper and lower while trying to grip the wrapped pistol grip

oh god, wtf.... why? that guy needs to just choose a path and stick to it.

i went full featureless on my AR's and that is what i'm sticking with.

much easier to convert to free state mode when crossing the border too, just need to take off the grip fin and load up the drum mags!

I still don't even know WTF the new laws are, how they're being enforced, when they're going into effect, what/if any penalty is for "violation" and what a violation is. My M&P 15 is the same as it was when I bought it in 2014

the only new law is that they specifically called out any magazine release locking devices that can allow magazines to be released with a use of a tool null/void in preventing your rifle from being classified as an "assault weapon" if you also have a flash hider, pistol grip and telescoping/folding stock. so they closed the hole in their original law when they were trying to ban magazine fed semi-auto rifles.

it started jan 1st 2017. so this is why all the AR's sold in stores now are featureless or have the new magazine locking devices. the law gives a 1 year grace period with no enforcement, while they are creating the rules/regs and also the registration for those that want to keep their Bullet Button as is. You can register all rifles that you bought before Jan 1st 2017 in this new Assault Weapon registry and then don't have to use the new magazine locking devices or go featureless. But the thing is, the rules/regulation may force you to keep the bullet button on instead of allowing you to covert to a regular magazine release that so many on here were hoping for.

i don't remember the consequence for not following the new law, but i'm sure it will be a felony and loss of the gun for sure, if not gun rights in general.

It will be enforced the same way all BS state gun laws are enforced today. Contact with LEO for whatever reason that results in a search and the discovery of non-compliant weapons/magazines may result in confiscation, charges, or both.

obey as much laws as you need to to prevent interaction with LEO's and one can own as many illegally configured or obtained guns they want!

Through rulemaking. If regulations only repeated what was in the statute, then there would be no regulations.
