"Secret stuff ?" Really ? If his training is so amazing, why was he banned from the Sacramento range ? Putting a photographer down range is only the tip of the iceberg.

Read post from student in the class on the "tool drill." Then read post #58 from range management regarding their letter to Yeager. Enough said.

Standing down range....muzzle up and turning 360, that's fxking stupid.

I've done handgun/rifle/shotgun training where we do 360* scans on the range, but they were done muzzle down in SUL. not sure if it makes a difference muzzle up/down for a rifle.

but to have photographers down range to and to have people moving forwards/backwards while shooting and having some in front of others is just screaming for someone to get shot.

Yeager posted a cryptic message on his Facebook page today stating he'll respond next week. A student claims Yeager sent this email out to all students after being banned from the range in Sacramento. Again, this email is second hand and unverified as coming directly from Yeager. His Facebook post seems to have a different tone than this email. Only time will tell.

"Hello Alumni,

Well now that you have trained with us you are a part of our family…our big dysfunctional family. As I write this message I haven’t spoken with my crew that taught your Fighting Pistol class in Sacramento but I can still draw a conclusion. One of my instructors, [instructor name removed], did something that was not in our curriculum, was not authorized, was not allowed, is not condoned and was very reckless, dangerous and negligent. We are all very fortunate no person was injured.

People from your class are already telling this story on-line and, of course, as it turns from an eyewitness account into gossip the story will get more and more outlandish. One day it will be so preposterous you yourself will have to interject that you were there, and that is not what happened, and you will be scoffed at. Such is life… I thank those of you who have not gone on-line and bashed us.
Well, I certainly cannot take that errant round back but I can deal with the consequences. I can tell you that [instructor name removed] has never done anything like this before. It is still hard for me to believe he even did it! It is very unlike him but facts are facts. So I am left with what to do with [instructor name removed]. I simply cannot do “nothing” but what do you do with a devoted employee that has worked very hard to be good at his job that does a hair brained thing like this? It is even tougher when this knucklehead is my friend. We are a close knit team here at Tactical Response.

So I am left with the aftermath to sort through and clean up. I have to decide to fire a guy on his “first offense” or if I should suspend him or make him do remedial training. There are many wrong answers and no 100% right one. Any decision like this weighs heavily on my heart.

I will end with this – I GIVE YOU MY WORD that nothing like this will ever happen again in one of my classes and I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE to every student in that class for his unprofessional display. It was WRONG and will NEVER happen again.

Im all for firearm proficiency training, but operating 007 is a bit funny.

When is this tactical fighting going to happen. When it does happen, can you still go to the grocery store to buy a 6 pack and potato skins?

And team training? So is this now your team? When do you gusy hook up for the war? You exchange ham radio signals or bat phone?

Or is team training for when you train your neighbors and arm them with rifles?

Is a beard required? Do you not shower for the 6 days and run Vaseline on the bung hole to prevent scaffing? Eating mres? Did they have a segment on what to do with wife and kids while out on patrol.

I guess i dont get the point of combat training. .squad tactics while living in usa..or are you going to middle east.

Im all for becoming a better shooter, just not clear on the squad operations. Maybe I need more friends with rifles red dots.

Yes they are ex military that went operators that have plenty of battle experience and you can bring plate carriers to the class and train but you won't need them.

When you're hit.

They have a support team there so when one of the 2 guns ( back up) you brought quits working they will help get it up and running again

Does the support team include EMT's?

And the med training course you have to insert the nose airway tube all the way to see how it works and you do get a slight nose bleed

To distract you from your bullet wound.

Was the cameraman armed?

Yes, with an iPhone. But, unfortunately, no one had a tripod...

The guy has a history of repeated and unnecessary safety issues spanning years now. 3 more years and he'll have a decade of well documented unsafe behavior under his belt. The complaining that people are discussing the incident online is something Yeager has done in the past(with regards to people discussing his disregard for safety), so it certainly sounds like something Yeager could have typed up. As far as decisions... no it isn't tough to decide to fire a guy on a "first offense" like this, unless Yeager is lying and did instruct the person to run this "tool drill".

The funniest thing about the "tool drill" concept? I mentioned earlier that I don't mind putting honest wear on my guns from use. However, no one who actually uses tools of any sort on a regular basis, intentionally treats their tools like ****. No one uses their calipers as a boomerang, swings around their multimeter by the probes like nunchucks, rigs up their chop saw as a boat motor, or any other stupid nonsense that would damage expensive tools.
