Ya... "Leap frogging and team tactics"

I would bet the OP doesn't have more then a weeks worth of food besides a few cans of spaghettio's and maybe a gallon of water.

But here he is....wearing armor- spinning in circles and doing ambush and team tactic drills?..lololol

Then telling anyone who doesn't train is going to die and better hope some guy in a helmet with Tactical Response is there to save you. I guess you were at the class too.

I am an active shooter. I am not a bench rest shooter. I shoot steel plates and trap/skeet on our own property. I have shot from our moving 4 wheeler..truck ect ect.

You are living in fantasy land if you think the USA devolves into roaming gangs ..and you are going to team up with your other "members" and practice "leap frogging" . Is this with your HAM radio? Or you live on a compound with all your fellow classmates.

I love anything shooting- the more practice the merrier. But to come on here and say if you are not training with SEALS you are going to die, is full on retard. He can justify his money spent how ever he wants- it is not true just because he paid for it. Its all dress up fantasy. Too many movies and video games. Running 3 gun competitions would probably be more helpful for his and your "warrior time".

    But hey..I mostly only shoot 7.62 nato..So I don't need back up..or dancing drills.

tactical response classes are not bad, he's surrounded himself with good people before like Reid to come up with some materials.

But as far as Yeager teaching the class himself? Probably not the best out there to pay that kind of money. As far as training goes he does teach weird crap that I would never use to protect Myself and share with people I care about. But that's part of the new age of gun training, you can teach people anyways you want no matter how much BS is added to it. Remember even good trainers take classes from other trainers and come up with a concuction of what they think are good. Always take tactical classes with skepticism and take what's good from it and apply it to your own training.

Since this is happening in Sacramento area, I recommend taking the cheaper classes from Gordon gray, and then taking classes from Dan and gene with trident firearms. An honest instructor will tell you that he's teaching you A way and not THE way.

Other class's I recommend is way of the gun with frank proctor, save up them pennies to fly to Alabama.
And travis Haley has some disruptive science scheduled for California this year.

It seems like stacking and leap frogging is useless, unless you are in a bad situation that calls for it. For it to work well, you would have to be with a specific team that has practiced these maneuvers together, over and over again.
If that's not the case, then you just had fun running your gun and burning ammo.

Like someone said above, the tactical pirouette with the muzzle pointed up ....it is stupid, and not real world. Although it is "range bullspit", it is for safety reasons.
The shooters should take some maneuvers with a grain of salt, and understand the difference between "range bullspit" for safety and real world self defense techniques.

From the yeagers videos, and student videos of Tactical Response, i see a whole lot wrong, and would never take his courses.

The thing is that he was in the ONLY up armored car in the convoy , he messed up in many ways during that event . First of he took the car out of gear so that he would not have to continuously press the clutch . When the shooting started he was not able to re engage the gear because his mind could not process the fact that he was in a manual and not in an automatic .

So he then just jumps out of the car , leaving all the other guys exposed and runs to the ditch on the side of the road and takes cover .
And I know that because I read the after action report AND I know someone who was there .

So yeah if anyone wants to take a course from James Y then please go right ahead BUT please do not think you got the best available .

I would have to slightly disagree with you, James yeager was not in an "up armored" vehicle. we dont even use that term unless on military vehicles. james was the driver of the lead vehicle which is a softskin BMW (regular unarmored BMW). The Armored vehicle was the center vehicle the mercedes driven by Simon and passenger ian.
James yeager did not run to the ditch as people and the media say, he could not get the vehicle to move because he had the parking brake engaged so , he, mark and steff who were the passengers of lead vehicle exited, steff who was wounded went to the side of the vehicle and yeager went to the rear of the vehicle. Yeager used up half of his ammo shooting at nothing or should i say barracde and decided to break contact and move to the median. Which was a bad decision because immediately mark identified the enemy that was on a white suburban, he experienced a malfunction on his M249 and switched to his M4 but he also had someone wounded so he was not able to engage properly. Yeager was suppose to be there to provide cover but he moved out leaving the team medic to treat steph without cover. Yeager stayed on the median and engaged a vehicle that wasnt involved. he then ran to vehicle 3 after he saw US military approaching.
this would probably the only negative i see with his actions. I wouldn't say its his fault that 3 people died, it would be the team leaders fault for not following SOP. If engaged you dont stop unless you have no choice, i believe the lessons learned from Edinburgh states that they stopped to investigate. Mistake 1.. they also did not establish fire suppression dominance and no team leader called out enemy location. Mistake 2. They just stopped to take fire from a couple of PKM.

you said you read the after action report?
or you mean after action review which was more for lessons learned from Edinburgh Risk And Security Management.

or after action report from the "media"

First off, I'm not condoning either of these ND's; both, as with any ND, were totally avoidable. However, Hayley's was a failure to safety check prior to doing his demo, which is stupid, but it can and does happen. At least, and I do mean least, his had the weapon pointed in a safe direction and had the weapon under positive control.

This TR one is just a whole different level of stupid. No control of the weapon (if you don't consider it being under your foot "control"), no safety check prior to the demonstration, not to mention the absurdity of the demonstration to begin with; I understand they are tools (the weapons, but quite possibly the instructors to, however in a different sense), but "use" does not equal "abuse".

He did not see the US Military approaching as the whole reason for why they were stopped is because a US Military convoy stopped ahead of them and they did not want to approach it with arms visible on board .

My mistake I read the incident investigation report before it went to ERM and if one follows your reasoning he was not responsible for the deaths of his crew but he sure did not help them running to the ditch

Sorry, Mr. Yeager. I can see his point that guns are tools. But I will not willingly take my gun and drop it on the ground. It proves absolutely nothing. If I accidentally drop my gun in a dire situation, that's one thing. But doing it on purpose is like taking your car and keying it, with the rationale that it's going to get scratches on it eventually anyways. There is no good reason for putting artificial wear on a gun you plan on possibly saving your hide one day, no matter how minor that wear may seem.

Yes, it's a tool. But it's not exactly a damn hammer, now is it?

However, his statement and point (if true) that no one asked for their money back is indeed valid.

I have. Without doubt one of the best training out there for handgun skills. Starting in April I will be going back at least once a month. https://www.tacticalperformancecenter.com

As long as the OP had fun, learned new things and feels he got his moneys worth. Who cares?

Most of these classes are range theater anyway.

Im all for firearm proficiency training, but operating 007 is a bit funny.

When is this tactical fighting going to happen. When it does happen, can you still go to the grocery store to buy a 6 pack and potato skins?

And team training? So is this now your team? When do you gusy hook up for the war? You exchange ham radio signals or bat phone?

Or is team training for when you train your neighbors and arm them with rifles?

Is a beard required? Do you not shower for the 6 days and run Vaseline on the bung hole to prevent scaffing? Eating mres? Did they have a segment on what to do with wife and kids while out on patrol.

I guess i dont get the point of combat training. .squad tactics while living in usa..or are you going to middle east.

Im all for becoming a better shooter, just not clear on the squad operations. Maybe I need more friends with rifles red dots.

These are my thoughts exactly. The most important thing is mindset. Will you kill when you NEED to kill? Will you hesitate? Remember you are using DEADLY force.

I'd be willing to bet that most of the civilians that take this class would be "deer in the headlights" if they ever got into any type of altercation.

                              These classes scream MALL NINJA.

Agreed. My car is a tool as well and one day I might have to swerve and hit a guard rail. But that doesnt mean I am going to do it now for practice in case that sad day comes.
