    Tactical response

I just got back to Los Angeles after spending six days in Sacremento training with Tactical Response.
The courses I attended were fighting pistol, fighting rifle, and advanced fighting rifle.
The course is combat oriented and I suggest that if you think you can fight and survive without taking a class like this you are mistaken.
The advanced class is based on special forces training and will work you over. The live fire and accomplishing field first aid and then applying cover to remove the shot personal is tough. The box training along with leap frog and bounding training was awesome. The Australia peal, stacking, etc all with live fire so take your ballistic kit.
I learned quite a bit with the team training segments and cover fire. The prone to standing position with rifle and pistol fire was also a learning experience, also fireing of the rifle from the prone position at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock positions also up side down was awesome.
I have video but you should find it on u tube.
I am a better trained battle rifle and pistol fighter since this class and I encourage anyone who wants combat fight training to take this class.

I've seen pretty much all of Yeager's videos and have wanted to take his fighting pistol class. I'm very curious to hear about your experience with him and the other instructors, what you learned, the cost, etc.

Tell me more about the "live fire" activities? If I'm not mistaken, this is the same guy that put a photographer down range to get shots of people shooting. Did you do anything that you thought was inherently unsafe?

That was Jay Gibson who had the camera downrange.

No idea who Jay Gibson is, but James Yeager did indeed have camera people at the target line on quite a few occasions. Apparently he's never heard of remotely operating a camera on a tripod.

Here's his response to people asking "wtf" in 2009

Here's a Tactical Response class with a camera man between targets again in 2012

They teach you secret stuff I can't mention on line. The cost of each class is $550.00 and if you want to retake the class it's half the price.

All I'm saying is if you get into a fire fight you better hope someone who has trained with tactical response is on your side to help.

The box training has a few different segments first you and a partner stack and when your partner runs out of ammo he peals off behind you and reloads while you are pounding the target etc..., this is done with pistol and rifle.
There is one where your partner is shooting and that is all he is doing while walking forward and as soon as he runs into a barrel he says back and you direct him back and this is while you are reloading and as soon as he runs out he peals and you start shooting and he directs you while your fireing. There are many team combat drills so if you want to put in your big boy pants take the class

                      Oooh, secret squirrel stuff!

I heard tactical response is actually the civilian arm of the CIA detachment that provides enhanced warrior services to Delta operators...

I'm glad you had a good time and learned lots of new stuff.

                          Leap frogging.....

Im all for firearm proficiency training, but operating 007 is a bit funny.

When is this tactical fighting going to happen. When it does happen, can you still go to the grocery store to buy a 6 pack and potato skins?

And team training? So is this now your team? When do you gusy hook up for the war? You exchange ham radio signals or bat phone?

Or is team training for when you train your neighbors and arm them with rifles?

Is a beard required? Do you not shower for the 6 days and run Vaseline on the bung hole to prevent scaffing? Eating mres? Did they have a segment on what to do with wife and kids while out on patrol.

I guess i dont get the point of combat training. .squad tactics while living in usa..or are you going to middle east.

Im all for becoming a better shooter, just not clear on the squad operations. Maybe I need more friends with rifles red dots.
