You are far kinder than I am. I'm pretty low key but at the point I get muzzled they will get a very clear understanding of how pissed off I am about it. You simply can't take any chances with that kind of thing.

I was at a 2-day Defensive Handgun course at Front Sight in Pahrump with my son. The guy to my right had a revolver that he kept muzzling the line with during reloads. They told us to yell cease-fire whenever we saw anything unsafe so I did so three times in a row. I told my range master that either he goes or I go. They moved him to the far left end of the line so that he could continue the same behavior.

We left and never went back.

And twice at Steele Peak we had guys set up and fire across the lines at rock outcroppings near us. We were getting ricochets and walked around to ask them to shoot down range only and stop shooting at rocks. One group left. The other told us they were almost done and kept on shooting. Again...we left and never went back.

I've always had a little suspicion when I go to my targets when the range is cold and my guns are on the bench. Never thought it really happened though.

People don't focus when there are phones & cameras at the firing line. They should be banned as an unsafe distraction.

I was at the local indoor range a couple of months ago, it was full of shooters. 2 guys and a gal settled in to the middle of the line and while their friend was at the line shooting the other guy started to assist the gal with a 1911 on who knows what, sights, grip... back by the loading bench. With the gun pointed at the 4:00 position at the ground with the line in front of her! I see the hammer is back and she pulls the trigger. I quickly approached and reviewed all the safety rules with them. They both seemed to be OK with it and I didn't see any other offenses after that.

Need to be safe out there, use every situation to teach new shooters and do it with respect

                Have fun

Being retired and a member of my club is great. We have 4 pistol ranges. We can start shooting at 08:00. During the week the chances are very good I will have a range to myself at that time.

I been flagged by a little kid and the dad wasnt paying ****ing attention to him at target masters back in 2010. I chewed his *** out for not being responsible and the employee there talked to them afterwards. Never going back there.

The worst offenders are either the new people or the super experienced . General a new guy gets the hint the experienced think they know so much it don't matter they are safe the later pissed me off more because they will never acknowledge they did wrong because they know what their doing .The worse I ever saw was a R.o. who swept the entire line a dozen or more times trying to rack a slide on a sub compact. Believe it was a Kahr . I yelled watch the muzzle
After the first time because my son was to their left .My son heard me dropped mag cleared action and stepped back . I told the the offending r.o . To watch the muzzle and you just wswpet every one at the line and behind .The R.o. said I work here I know what I doing .

Can't remember the thread title, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading here, that a guy had a firearm stolen at an indoor range. This was within the past year. I'm always keeping an eye on my gear when at an indoor range. It does happen, which is a sad fact.

Some people look at me silly or think that I'm a wannabe tacticool operator when I wear my armored plate carrier to the range, when all I'm doing realistically is covering my *** because there are newbs in the range who are careless, and even some experience shooters who become incompetent with safety. I can't even count how many times I've been swept by a loaded pistol.

At least in SoCal, they are in town and you can rent firearms. It takes some dedication to load up and head 60 miles to burro canyon, Angeles crest, or lytle creek. That weeds out most other then those who have a buddy who is teaching them.

I hate indoor ranges. Well, I dislike the clientele.
