    Reckless Behavior at the Range

Any of you had an experiences with people sweeping the line, with their finger on the trigger, absolutely oblivious they were doing anything wrong. I have had way to many experiences like this lately...

We've all got stories. Thankfully we all lived to tell them. Gotta stay aware at the range.

I cant say that I've ever seen reckless behavior.

Like I've done some **** at the range with some buddies from the Corps that would make you saftey sallies **** your pants but thats us doing stuff we've done before and we trust each other.

I saw an RSO yell at a new shooter because he flagged him with an unloaded weapon. The guy got a little butthurt, but i went up to him and told him "it sucks getting yelled at but I bet you'll never do it again"

The last time I was at the public range, some jackholes gave one of their girlfriends some handcannon and then recorded video of her shooting it for the first time. It had a full magazine and, after the shot that nearly knocked her down, she swung around, finger-on-trigger, laughing at the whole experience. A bunch of people yelled at her and them, but they just shrugged it off as if everyone was just being jerks to them. The RO didn't toss them out, so I left and haven't been back to the public part of the range.

              Just politely say something.

Don't want new shooters to think the sport is full of jerks.

Also don't' want experienced shooters, to think you're a jerk.

Also you're talking to someone with a gun in their hands and unknown mentation.

Happened to me once, I do NOT go to public ranges where you share a firing line anymore.

^^ This. I think we have a responsibility to politely say something, while not coming off as an a**. Everyone was a newbie at one time.

Polite at first - Educate them

Then draw and point in on them.....
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

^This. I am not the best at practicing it. But at least with my own lane, I don't freak people out.

Well put......most guys are born thinking they know everything about cars, women & guns. All 3 can kill you until you actually get some experience with them.

I would politely school them. When ever I see this that's what I do and needed give them some pointers. I would hate to be a stat or anyone around me.

It never happened to me OR I haven't noticed.

I'll tell you this: every single person with me usually, I train them OR we redo the safety basics, no matter of how expert they may be.

Additionally, if I saw someone doing something crazy, you can bet the money in the bank I'd call the range master in a heartbeat.
