The worst I see on a regular basis is people fiddling with stuff on the bench during a cease fire while others are down range fixing their targets.

I hollered at a lady last Saturday who grabbed a couple magazines off the bench and she got a little butthurt. Her boyfriend asked her to grab them.

I was at Angeles once where some old dude that just arrived proceeded to walk his target out to the target stand....while the line was still hot.

It took everyone a second or two to shake off the haze of disbelief before we all started shouting at him to come back. Not before he got about halfway there, however.

Also, not to be sexist, but it always seems like it's the girlfriends that sweep everyone on the line. I blame the boyfriends that bring them. One of these girlfriends inadvertantly pointed the barrel of her loaded Glock Fotay at my head....man, that muzzle looked like a ginormous soul-sucking black hole. Boyfriend was told.

People always look at me funny when I'm at the range. Maybe my technique needs some work?

I was a Chabot with my son. He was shooting my Gew98 and concentrating on the sights. The geezer in the next bench dropped something and it rolled down in front of my son's bench. He got up and lurched forward to get it which took me by surprise; I didn't think anyone was that stupid. I jumped behind him an grabbed his belt and pulled him back. After he saw what had happened, he left for the day.

BLM on the other hand is the Wild Freaking West. Last time out up near Arnold was shooting the AR at 100yrds. Guy drove his jeep to the end of the backstop WHILE I WAS SHOOTING. Just caught it out of the corner of my eye.

I stopped and yelled "WTF". He said "you were shooting straight I'm not worried". After he unpacked and had his 2yr old and 4yr old daughter running around without ear protection, I just left.

I'll take a range any day over BLM. My experience has been sketchy with no RO to supervise.
They both run a pretty tight ship. Especially during any cease fires

Having been a victim of an ND, I cut no slack...and I don't go to free-for-all ranges.

I dread being the in the lane next to the girl who is being instructed by her know-it-all boyfriend how to shoot for the first time. What makes it even more scary is when:

                  1) He is instructing her on safe gun handling in the shooting range.
                  2) They are using a rental, usually a 9 mm. Typically a Glock 17 or 19
                  3) The boyfriend is rapid firing to show his girlfriend what a cool dude he is. He is usually missing the target as well.
                  4) The girlfriend screams or giggles excessively every time she pulls the trigger. I can hear all this through my foam ear plugs and headphones.
                  5) They are both recording all this coolness on their phones.

I have moved to the other side of the range more than once trying to stay as far away as possible from this nonsense. One way you can tell how safe the range has been in the past is by counting all the holes in the partitions between the lanes and the holes in the ceiling directly above the lanes. Sometimes I wonder if ranges under report accidental shootings.
                  And so it goes...

Oroville is where I shoot. No range master. Don't go on the weekends.

Scroungy people pushing you out of the way to get YOUR brass. Huh?

Bet you a dollar that range will not be there in the future. Wait for the first death.

My wife is an old/new school James Bond fan. So a long time ago I bought her a Walther PPKS.

It was her first time shooting. I told her what to do and she fires at the target. Bam! Drops the pistol.

She said, I didn't know there would be a spark.

The guy in the next lane was not amused. I took the blame for not telling her enough about what to expect.

I haven't been to an indoor range for some time. Toxic air, suicidal jerks, sweepers, thefts, etc.

As for the "safety Nazis" at Angeles, I'm thankful for every one of them.
I want unsafe shooters put in check ASAP.

Cholos unboxing a brand new Beretta ARX looking thing right on the firing line and waving it around then loading it with .22LR and struggling to get the mag in and get the weapon changed then when they finally do start pulling the trigger as fast as possible shooting everything down range other than their target.

I hate cholos more than anything on earth

I usually draw down on them and say "drop the weapon before I drop you!" Works everytime.
