Correction: you need a shotgun, long range bolt gun, semi auto rifle, handgun, and some form of .22

There's simply no reason NOT to have a shotgun. There's $200 LEO trade in 870's all over the place. And the older 870's will last longer than you will.

I'd post a pic of my little prototype 870, but its not ready for the publics eye. (I don't think you want to spend $3k on a pump gun anyways)

Because there fun as hell. I got a Remington 870 from big five about a year ago, just because I did not have a shotgun and wanted one, like you, lots of pistols and a few rifles, no shotgun. So a couple months ago we plan a trip to my buddys house in Oregon, I started thinking of what guns to take and saw the new Remi in the safe staring back at me and said why not. We made a stop at Wali mart in oregon and grabbed a 100 round box of 12 Gauge a 98 count box of clays and a hand thrower. I think it cost a whopping 38$! LOL Best 38$ I ever spent. What a blast! Most fun I have had shooting in a long time, After the clays were gone we got out some old and full wine in a box my buddy had and grenaded that and any thing else we could find including a old 1 1/8 peice of plywood that had huge holes in it when done. Walked back into his house dragging the right arm (sore as hell) and talked about why we did not bring the shotguns up a year ago! Now every trip the Remi is comming along! Go buy one and enjoy!

If you go to Big 5 there is an 11 day wait. Just FYI so you don't start the millionth thread about that . Now go get a shotgun!

FYI, The Feeder is a Calgunner here that has shotgun clinics in SF starting next month. Classes fill up. He has a great thread about selecting a shotgun. I'd post it but I'm on my phone. I wish the mods would make it a sticky.

because a shotgun will teach you how to hit a moving target....nuff said...

If you don't think you need one, don't get one.

The shotgun is awesome because it can adapt to different situation.

                              Bird shot
                              Buck shot
                              Slugs
Less than legal (not recommend for use on people)
                              Strung buck
                              Dragons breath
                              Flechette
                              ...
In addition 2-3/4 loads, 3" loads, 3.5" loads.
                              It is an adaptive weapon.
