Did you send them a deposit? Personally I would ask for my property, and deposit returned ASAP. That might lite a fire under them. Or let you find other outlets to get what you want.

It's an expensive outdated product. The people that run the company have an IQ south of their shoe size

I must be a glutton for punishment because I sent my second barrel in for the same work as the first.

Vang comp confirmed receipt on 2/15. I followed up on 3/18 and they said it's at the finishing stage, but there's a bit of a bottleneck since they cerakote for a few companies.

Hopefully it'll be on its way soon.

I visited Cody at the Vang Comp Shop last Wednesday 3/30 And saw first hand what is going on there.

The short version is that They are absolutely swamped with work!!!!

They are working 12 hours days 6-7 days a week and there is only 3 guys working and one more comes in and does the Cera-Kote a few times a week..

I saw literally Hundreds of Shotguns in boxes that were all dumped on them a few weeks ago by Remington. 200 are going to DHS and are getting the Full Custom Tactical Shotgun Makeover which takes a few days to work thru for each gun. They are doing them in batches in between the Barrel work only orders that come in daily.

They have dedicated machines for every process they do on a barrel. But only one guy doing it, with the other two filling in as needed, taking guns apart and reassembling them as they near completion. There is also documentation that has to be done and Cody takes care of that in addition to his other administrative duties..

Cody is mainly on the phone and answering emails and running the show for most of the day..

They can do 20 barrels in a day, and they have literally stacks of them to do!!!

I went there to evaluate the place and see if I could improve their process to speed it up. My evaluation was that they need at least two more guys working there.

All of the dedicated machines were doing exactly what they should be doing and there really isn't any way to go faster with different machines that anyone could afford. The work they do is pretty specialized and there isn't really anyway to make it go faster other than hiring more people so all the machines and operations are running at once. 2 more guys could make that happen.

Any way this place is still in it's infancy as the new owners come up to speed after moving to Las Vegas.

They can make just barrel work come together pretty much in the time they quote.

Full gun makeovers are subject to parts availability, and what needs to be done, and the times for this can vary dramatically and they also can be long. There was a rack with about 40 guns on it waiting for complete makeovers.

I do know this.. These guys are as good as it gets, and they are working as hard as they can. You just have to be a little patient with them .

Cool story, but why do they keep taking work they can’t perform in a timely manner? Seems pretty basic to not bite off more than you can chew and piss everyone off in the process.

First: They aren't pissing everybody off. I like them just fine.

I sent a Rifled Barrel in to be cut and a front sight re-soldered on and Cera-Koted. I sent it in Wednesday a week before I showed up last Wednesday and guess what it? was done when I got there.. They also lengthened the forcing cone on my Monkeyberg barrel while I waited. Took 10 minutes.

I have never seen any successful machine shop business that turned away work. If you turn it away it just goes somewhere else, and you've lost that customer forever.
Just because they are swamped right now doesn't mean they will be swamped forever.

Also according to Cody the only people who are saying they are pissed off are here. They have enough satisfied customers that I saw lots of customers guns and barrels waiting to be worked on. So apparently not that many people are pissed off at them or there wouldn't be so many guns there?.

Even "SFVshoooter" just sent in another barrel to get the process done. Apparently he was satisfied with the results or he wouldn't have sent another barrel to them a month or so after the last one. We'll no doubt hear about it when it comes back.

Barrel work or whatever that doesn’t require parts is one thing but excepting work they know they have no parts for or even when the parts are coming is another. Yes the Remington situation screwed them and was another reason to pump the brakes to see what would happen. Might be the time to stop taking work that requires replacement parts until Remington gets their **** together or start sourcing the parts elsewhere or getting them made somewhere else.

They have started contracting with local Machine shops in Las Vegas for parts that they used to get from Remington, but that takes time as well and some of the shops they have dealt with turned out to be Flakes in their own right, which did nothing but add to the wait times.

They will get up to speed soon and everyone just needs to have a little patience, like I said above these guys are as good as it gets so have a little faith.

Wow! Remington has Vang's nuts in a vise, no pun intended.

All in all these are interesting times.
