Vang Comp wait times

I sent mine in to get the "vang comp" treatment and a front sight added on 11/10/21. They called me back in December because they wanted to know what they were supposed to do even though I included the email with instructions in the box.

They said they had 400 shotguns in their shop.

I planned on getting the exact same work on another barrel when I received the first one back, but now I'm going to see if I can find someone else to just add the front sight. Probably a lot cheaper as well.

Did you ask wait time before you sent it? While I agree 5 months is lame and I’d be sure to be telling customers if that was my shop, it’s kinda on you if you didn’t ask.

I have never had to wait more than 1 week end to end to get any of my three barrels back.

No reason to send the whole gun if they are only going to work on the barrel.

Call them on Monday and talk to "Cody" and tell him I sent you. He knows me and tell him I sent you.

That shouldn't do more than add another 5 months to delivery.

I do know that they got in 800 Rem 870's that they had been waiting on for a year, and were promised to some agency. That maybe the reason why they are taking so long.

never seen the need to send in a gun to them. its mostly cosmetic other than the barrel and thats meh to me.

they took 13 months to finish my barrel just for a blue coat to match the receiver on my wingmaster.

I'll call too just to find out what is the problem with long deliveries. I have a barrel I want modified and I'm not going to wait months to get it back.

When the wait time seems too long, I buy another gun to have/use while the other is away.

I talked to Cody at Vang Comp today. He said,,,

Ralston's gun is waiting on a Rear Sight/Pic Rail just like many others and the Machine Shop making them is supposed to deliver around 2 weeks from today. That is a Rear Sight with Pic Rail to be attached to teh receiver which is already D&T'd only needs the sight assembly to finish and then ship.

SFV shooter's barrel with the Front Sight addition has already been shipped.

He has 400 shotguns in house right now. 200 are getting the Tactical Treatment for DHS and they are concentrating on them because of the big Payday. As would any shop! including me..

He told me that regular barrel mods are 10-15 days turnaround. All other more involved mods are put in line with everybody else, and can take up to 120 days.

He said that in the future he will be more diligent about quoting lead times more accurately.

The large gun shipment from Remington was way over due, and it threw the whole place in to a spin.

They had waited thru the whole Remington restructuring process for delivery of those guns and so were way over due on delivering the orders for those 400 guns, 200 of which were going to DHS .
