previously, .22lr was taken for granted. I can tell you many people not following current events relating to ammunition are totally shocked that inexpensive .22lr is the most difficult ammo to find.

now that the anti-2A enemy has decided to open the ammo availability front, thoughtful people naturally seek to stockpile ammunition. since .22lr is the most versatile cartridge it is no wonder these folks avidly seek it. while centerfire ammo is more widely available, it is still more expensive. 1 year ago I bought a case of Magtech 9mm for $239. from lucky gunner, no less.

bottom line- the demand integer of the supply/demand equation will not ever recede until full 2A victory. for which, don't hold your breath.

Don't hold you're breath until Obama is out of office. In the mean time if you find some. Buy it.

Up-to-date ammunition availability for over 200 products at 3,600 Walmart’s nationwide!

ammo-can is pretty good. I found the above website not long ago and find the user interface is much easier. check it out

Anyone telling you to keep stashing ammo is selling something (or knows people who do).

            Fixed it for you.

Let the re-sellers sit on their supplies long enough and they'll stop running out and cornering the market. Your average Big5 or Walmart worker doesn't have the deep pockets to keep buying up ammo when it comes time to pay the rent.

I do not get it. Why would anyone ever pay more than retail price? I never have..

Just got 5000 22 blazer from midway for $195 plus shipping will be arriving
Two weeks ago got 2200 rnds of Win for $110 plus shipping

Don't ask I got a bunch of nephews and a niece. I made a mistake and got each a 22 rifle 2012 XMas with a promise of shooting once a month. The little buggers shoot 1000 per outing.

Hang in there- it is coming and the "cottage industry" i.e. gougers will soon be SOL.

Same thing happened 6 months ago with 223 - went from $1 a round to $0.4 almost overnight. However, still not down to $0.3 a round.

                  22lr ammo prices dropping!!

                  Today's 'The Onion' headline?

First post was in October, last one in February.

Eventually, I'm sure. Then again, it may just keep pace with inflation and we'll never know whether it did or not.

I know I'm gonna get got, but I'm going to get mine more than I get got though.

I just bought a .22 lever action rifle, and the guy I bought it from was very nice in giving me 100 free rounds of unopened .22 lr. I looked at the sticker price....$2.00! Wouldn't that be nice for .22 ammo to be that cheap again?!

22 is still tough to find in the Mass/NH area, went to a gun show last weekend and saw 325 packs for $60. Various other brands at other dealers running in the same ballpark. Still have the 7am'ers hitting Walmart cleaning out the common caliber stock.

If scalpers dropping prices from 55 to 45 a brick is a significant milestone then I guess your right.
Anybody willing to pay .10+ a round for .22 wants to shoot worse than I do.
Never used up what I had before BO got elected and NEVER paid more than walmart prices.
                          Its supposed to be fun.
                          A dime a bang ain't fun

Just so you all know from a dealer[vendor on C.G.] view on prices. CCI,Federal, Winchester, etc have not raised their prices, even after the school shooting. I am not a ammo dealer so my prices on ammo are not the greatest. I got [had until few weeks ago til next shipment] 22 Federal 525 ct value packs for $17.60 ea my cost. With shipping ,tax, and a more than generous profit of $5.00 ea, the price should be no more than $25 otd. I am a business owner but also a customer and there is no need.. Do not pay those prices. Wait it out

I was at a LGS and they broke down a brick and were selling them by the 100 pack in a zip lock. Sad
